Division 3: State Title contenders Freedom is second in the Northern Eastern conference this season. The team is currently ranked third in the state. With a 17-1 conference record, Freedom has made some major improvements this year. The team has a deep bench with players who do a little bit of everything. Taylor Haase | Senior Haase is a beast defensively for her squad. At 6’0, she leads Freedom in rebounding, averaging 7 per game. She uses her strength inside to find a good position on both ends of the floor. She has a combination of athleticism and quickness that find her being very successful. In a win over Fox Valley Luther, Haase grabbed 16 rebounds. In a win over Marinette she scored her season-high 25 points for Freedom. Haase is committed to NAIA Clarke University. Gabby Johnson | Junior The 5’9 point guard has been a huge asset for her team this season. Johnson is fast offensively and does a great job of attacking the basket. This season I’ve watched Johnson gain more confidence in her outside shooting ability. She is averaging 13.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game for Freedom. In a win over Clintonville, Johnson scored 23 points on 9-13 from the floor. Callie Genke | Junior The 6’0 junior shooting guard is averaging 12.3 points for her team. She plays with experience and so much composure. Her outside shooting stroke is exceptional and has helped in big victories this season. In a win over New London, Genke scored 22 points. She also dropped 20 points in a victory over Clintonville. Genke plays with a lot of swagger on both ends of the floor and is a clear player to keep an eye on. Genke is committed to UW Green Bay. Wrightstown Wrightstown is first in their conference this season. Currently second in the state, Wrightstown has become a top team to beat. They are a super quick team who get up and down the floor so well. Wrightstown is known for their crafty offensive style and ability to get a lot of shots up each game. In turn they are a great high pressure team defensively. The team is 17-1 in their conference play this season. Ella Diny | Senior The 5’9 guard has been a known player around the state this season. A four-year varsity player, Diny continues to improve. She’s had some very impressive stats this season and has become a true scorer in her conference. Diny is averaging 23.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. She has a sick pull up jumper and handles that are so hard to defend. She has also developed into an effective perimeter shooter. Diny is committed to Cardinal Stritch. Bridget Froehlke | Senior The senior has stepped up big for her squad. She is averaging 20 points per game during her final campaign. A playmaker who also can score the ball, Froehlke makes for a hard player to defend. Averaging 7 assists per game, she leads her team. A floor general for Wrightstown she sees the floor exceptionally well. She is also a communicator on defense and super scrappy. In their most recent win over Clintonville, she had 30 points. Froehlke is committed to Missouri- Kansas City. Platteville With an undefeated season, Platteville is the prospective team to bring home a gold ball. With a patient and poise offense, they are a hard team to beat. The team averages 62 points per game. Each player understands their role on the team and executes it so well. Platteville is the number one team in the state and currently has a 21-0 record. Sami Martin | Senior The 6’2 post player has really come into her own this season. She has helped lead her team while averaging 17.8 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. A true forward who has great footwork and knows exactly how to get open down low. Her drop step and reverse pivot have been really successful this season. She works well with her guards and is a super strong rebounder. Averaging a double-double each game, Martin has become the go-to player on her team. She is committed to Bradley University. Becca Hoyer | Senior The 5’9 guard is a key role player for Platteville. She attacks the floor well and finishes with composure underneath. She runs the floor well and sees multiple points off the transition. Hoyer is averaging nearly 12 points per game for her squad. Hoyer has become a defensive specialist this season and can be seen guarding the opposing teams top scorer. In a win over Lancaster, Hoyer scored a season high 20 points for her team. In a win over Waukesha West, Hoyer grabbed 13 rebounds. She is a crafty guard who has just the right amount of height to be effective flying past her defenders. Hoyer is committed to UW Platteville.
