The Lady Pirates of Hicks High School, located in Leesville, LA in Vernon Parish, have recently been engaged in some competitive basketball games against strong opponents from the surrounding areas. This team of young ladies possesses a very promising core of athletes, indicating a bright future for the group. The squad consists of only one senior, Jayde Wilbanks, with the remainder of the team comprising one sophomore, two freshmen, four eighth graders, and one seventh grader. Their youthfulness is a notable aspect of their Their ability to compete effectively against more experienced teams is truly remarkable, and they consistently demonstrate their determination. They actively contest every loose ball, possession, and rebound on the court, never backing down and always giving their full effort. This young team exhibits a notable level of maturity, and as they continue to play and develop together, their team cohesion, chemistry, and individual skills are sure to improve. This team is poised to be a significant contender this season and in the future, and they are certainly a team to watch. She plays as a combo guard for Hicks High School. In a recent game against the Lady Tigers, KK scored 15 points, including three successful three-point shots out of six attempts, achieving a 50% success rate from beyond the arc. Overall, she made 6 out of 10 field goals, resulting in a 60% field goal percentage. Her statistics also include 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 7 steals. KK demonstrates a versatile skill set, posing a three-level scoring threat with excellent ball control and court vision. She is developing into a strong floor general for her team. Her future appears promising keep putting in the work young lady.     Jayde Wilbanks Sr., wearing number 15 for the Lady Pirates, is a combo Guard for Hicks High School and also serves as team captain. The other night, Jayde achieved a double-double, scoring 15 points and securing 14 rebounds, which is quite impressive. She also contributed 4 steals and 5 assists. She demonstrated exceptional effort in that game against the Lady Tigers. Jayde is proficient in ball-handling, capable of scoring from various positions, and plays excellent defense. Jayde is a competitive player who excels when faced with a challenge.     Kattie Grace Quinn, the freshman wearing number 14 for the Lady Pirates, plays center for Hicks High School. Kattie did a great job protecting the rim and the painted area. Kattie scored a total of 8 points, going 3-11 from the field and shooting 27% for the night. Kattie did a great job attacking the glass and grabbing 8 rebounds. Kattie is a good big and a good rim protector who has good footwork when posting up; she's the enforcer of the team and plays strong and physical who posses a body type already that college coach love.     Abby Addison, an 8th-grade student wearing number 0 for the Lady Pirates, had a commendable basketball performance. She concluded the evening with a total of 11 points, including one successful three-pointer, and achieved a 33% field goal percentage, making 4 out of 12 attempts. Additionally, Abby secured 7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 1 assist. While she contributed effectively to rebounding, her presence was particularly notable on the defensive end, where she applied pressure to ball handlers and forced turnovers. Abby is certainly a player from Hicks High School to keep an eye on as she continues to develop and mature in her skills over the coming years.
