With the class of 2020 finalizing their decisions for where they will continue their education and athletic careers, collegiate coaches are beginning to turn their eyes to the class of 2021. Our updated rankings for the class have several good point guards. Below are some of the top players at the position in Georgia.

Moore is the top-rated point guard in this class. She plays with a level of passion and competitive spirit that spills over to every aspect of her game. She is a leader and game manager at the point guard position. She has a very good feel for the game and that shows in her understanding of when to score and when to set up teammates for scoring opportunities. She can score at all three levels consistently. She has finishing ability at the rim, a nice mid-range jumper, and can knock down shots behind the arc. Her active defense often creates easy scoring opportunities because she picks up steals and deflections at a high rate. She plays the game with a lot of energy on both ends. She will fit into any system at the next level because she brings a high IQ and athleticism to the point guard position.
Carly Fahey Carly Fahey 5'8" | PG Hebron Christian | 2021 State GA | 5’8″ | Hebron Christian
Fahey is a natural point guard with a high basketball IQ. She consistently forces the issue in transition putting pressure on the opposing team every second she’s on the floor. Her IQ really shows when advancing the ball, because she always makes the correct decision of who to pass to based on personnel. She is efficient with her dribbles as plays develop. She is a good three-point shooter that is always looking for the high percentage shot. She has very good court vision and is a true extension of the coach. Always attentive to calls and communicates well with her teammates as she runs the show. An active defender that plays with a lot of energy. She is susceptible to getting beat on occasions by faster guards, but is more than capable to hold her own on the perimeter.

When watching Willis play her toughness, court vision, and composure jumps out. With a very strong frame she’s a strong driver that makes great decisions on the way to the basket. She finishes aggressively at the rim taking on contact from other guards looking to stop her or shooting a nice floater. She has great court vision and understands how to read and react to help defenders, whether it be a drop pass to her bigs or a kick to the wings and corners for shooters to knock down open threes. She is a good passer that places the ball exactly where it needs to go. She has a good basketball IQ and has an ability to play out of the pick and roll. She can absorb contact while coming off screens without being bumped off her path. Defensively, she is not a liability. She has a combination of strength and lateral quickness that allows her to stay in front of perimeter players. She has a good looking jump shot inside the arc but she would benefit from increasing her range to beyond the arc.
Paige Lyons Paige Lyons 5'6" | PG Dutchtown | 2021 State GA | 5’6″ | Wesleyan
Lyons is a quick and shifty point guard with excellent ball-handling. She understands the importance of being able to change speeds to keep defenders on edge when defending her. She is rarely shaken by defenders looking to turn up the ball pressure and takes it on while still being able to keep her eyes up and get into sets or deliver passes all over the floor. She is best penetrating and getting paint touches requiring that help defenders leave their assignments to stop her from getting to the rim. Her defense is a strength as well. She has active hands and quick feet which allows her to get under bigger guards and stay in front of smaller quick guards. Her jumper is still improving and as she perfects her floater she will become even more of an offensive threat because of her ability to get by the first level of the defense.
Isabel Davenport Isabel Davenport 5'8" | PG Lumpkin County | 2021 State GA | 5’7″ | Lumpkin County
Davenport has a very steady game. She is a patient scorer that looks for good shot opportunities. Although she is able to make some good decisions in transition offense, with great passes and quick finishes, she is more suited for a team focused on half-court possessions. She thrives as a shooter. She has great shot selection which leads to a high shooting percentage behind the arc. She will continue to increase her understanding of how to use off-ball screens to get open looks under Coach David Dowse’s guidance making her even more of a threat on offense. She prefers the floater when driving against set defenses. Having decent athleticism she’s an average defender and can stay in front of other primary ball handlers around the perimeter.
