Top 12 Teams in 6A: South Salem Rises, Century Returns in Week 7

West Salem upset 5A No. 1 South Albany 65-61 in a road game with multiple lead changes, including double-digit swings. Clackamas narrowly escaped a Barlow upset in overtime after coming from behind to level things in the fourth quarter. South Salem held on against Sprague, who came within three points in the final frame. Grants Pass upset Sheldon after coming from 13 points behind (the Irish were relegated to the bubble, where the Lady Cavers remain after consideration).</p>   <p>Here are my Top 12 in 6A after Week 7:</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">1. Tualatin (11-1, 2-0)</h2>   <p>The Timberwolves defeated Oregon City 61-30 and Lakeridge 78-17. They host North Thurston (WA) for an MLK Showcase on Monday. South Medford (12-2, 3-0)</h2>   <p>The Panthers stand alone at the top of the Southwest Conference table after defeating Grants Pass 68-49 and Willamette 58-16. West Linn (11-1, 1-0)</h2>   <p>The Lions defeated Jesuit 51-31 in a ranked nonleague game and St. Mary's Academy 65-21 in its league opener. Benson (9-2, 5-0)</h2>   <p>The Astros picked up two more league wins after defeating Grant 71-43 and Franklin 82-28. They host Southridge on Monday in the PIL MLK Invite, and Cleveland on Friday in a return to its league schedule.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">5. Southridge (8-5, 1-0)</h2>   <p>The Skyhawks defeated Beaverton 65-50 and Lake Oswego 71-50, both home wins. They go to Benson on Monday and Westview on Friday.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">6. Sherwood (11-3, 2-0)</h2>   <p>The Bowmen defeated Glencoe 54-10 and McMinnville 64-30. Nelson (7-6, 2-0)</h2>   <p>The Hawks defeated Gresham 78-25 and Sandy 66-36. Nelson has a big upcoming week in league play, as they host Barlow on Tuesday and Clackamas on Friday.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">8. Jesuit (8-5)</h2>   <p>The Crusaders lost to West Linn 31-51 and also to Evergreen (WA) 36-47. West Salem (7-8, 1-0)</h2>   <p>The Titans defeated 5A-ranked South Albany 64-60 and McNary 72-32. South Salem (12-1, 1-0)</h2>   <p>The Saxons defeated Sprague 59-51. South Salem hosts league rival West Salem on Tuesday for the first of three matchups that should decide the Central Valley Conference. Clackamas (10-2, 2-0)</h2>   <p>The Cavaliers are on a 9-game winning streak after defeating Barlow 77-72 in overtime and Central Catholic 68-45, both home wins. They host Sherwood on Tuesday and go to Newberg on Friday.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Considered:</h2>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Barlow (8-5, 1-1)</h3>   <p>The Bruins fell to Clackamas 77-72 and defeated Reynolds 90-14. They go to North Medford on Tuesday and host Willamette on Friday.</p>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Sheldon (11-3, 0-2)</h3>   <p>The Irish lost to Grants Pass 47-53 and go to Willamette on Tuesday, looking for their first league win. They host Roseburg on Friday.</p>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Oregon City (10-4, 1-1)</h3>   <p>The Pioneers lost to Tualatin 30-61 and defeated Tigard 60-35. Their next game is at home against St. Mary's Academy on Tuesday.</p>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Beaverton (5-10, 1-1)</h3>   <p>The Beavers fell to Southridge 50-65 and defeated Westview 50-35. They host Sunset on Tuesday.</p>
