Personally, I was really looking forward to seeing which juniors were going to rise their stock in their final season of club basketball. There are a handful of players that I felt were going to really see their interest levels rise from a strong Spring season. Every player mentioned is a junior in the 2021 graduating class.
“Would’ve Been” Stock Risers:
Player: Faith Bergstrom Faith Bergstrom 6'3" | C Camas | 2021 State WA
HS: Camas
Club: ULL Premier
2021 6’2 C Faith Bergstrom Faith Bergstrom 6'3" | C Camas | 2021 State WA has steadily seen her stock rise over the course of her junior high school season, but a strong Spring season could have taken things to another level in some regard. She has a handful of mid major Division 1 offers and I believe she would have only added more than she already had. She has the length, above average mobility and footwork in the post that would catch the eye of colleges that are now 100% devoted to the 2021 class. Nonetheless, Bergstrom has some great offers and even Ivy League opportunities, which could be a great fit for her with her outstanding GPA and test scores.
Player: Delaney Pink Delaney Pink 5'8" | SG Chiawana | 2021 State WA
HS: Chiawana
Club: NW Blazers
2021 5’8 SG Delaney Pink Delaney Pink 5'8" | SG Chiawana | 2021 State WA would have greatly benefited from a Spring season. She had some really great moments playing travel ball last Spring and Summer and got the interest of several Division 1 schools with her speed and shooting ability. This Spring could have solidified her recruitment, but she still has a handful of schools that are currently in contact with her through the pandemic.
Player: Jaliyah Sampson Jaliyah Sampson 6'0" | SF Rainier Beach | 2021 State WA
HS: Rainier Beach
Club: NW Greyhounds
2021 6’0 SF Jaliyah Sampson Jaliyah Sampson 6'0" | SF Rainier Beach | 2021 State WA is a prospect that’s far too under the radar for her natural athleticism and scoring ability. She has all of the tools to be recruited and has a higher ceiling than some of the players currently ranked above her. All she needs is the opportunity to player on the bigger stage and show she can compete with players on the circuit. A prospect to be aware of!
Player: Devynn Warns Devynn Warns 5'6" | CG Liberty | 2021 State WA
HS: Liberty
Club: FOH Seattle
2021 5’6 CG Devynn Warns Devynn Warns 5'6" | CG Liberty | 2021 State WA had to sit out all of last Spring and Summer rehabbing a knee injury, but she came back with a vengeance in her junior high school season. She walked away with MVP of her league and led Liberty in scoring, as well as a playoff run. She has the strength, ball handling and competitiveness to be able to help out some college program.
