Oakbrook Prep was the winner of the SCISA Region III-2A tournament this last season. They are returning most of their young talent next season. After recording 27 wins this last season and only 5 loses, they have a lot left they can do. Here is who you should know: [player_tooltip player_id="171756" first="Daja" last="Taylor"]: The 5’7 2022 point guard has tremendous upside to her. She passes extremely well (and it does not hurt that who she is passing to converts the pass to points) she can see up the floor and has no problem passing ahead for the easy points. She can shoot the 3 ball pretty well, and already has college range. She is a pesk on defense, she will come and trap, she will go behind and poke the ball away, she will come get a jump ball, and is not afraid to get in her opponents face. Lastly she gets to the charity stripe quite often, and makes it count. She plays AAU for the Carolina Crush organization. Brianna Glenn: The 5’11 2022 power forward had a bit of a sophomore slump this last season, but she has potential to play after high school. She is long and lanky, active on defense. She comes up with a lot of lose balls and steals simply from being active and moving they fall in her lap, so to speak. She is long enough to block and alter shots around the rim. She is a good rebounder, had a season high 15 in a game this last season. If she gets a defensive rebound (or steal) she is comfortable with taking it herself all the way. She still has enough time to develop into a better finisher around the rim, but again her freshman year stats shows she is capable of doing so she just needs to find that rhythm again. [player_tooltip player_id="171750" first="Abbie" last="Bishop"]: The 5’6 2021 shooting guard has already committed to play at North Greenville, but the girl is a flat out shooter. Knocking down almost 100 3’s on this last season and shooting well over 30% from deep, she knows how to shoot it. She has been an all-state selection, and all-region player. Along with knocking down triples she is a good passer and can run the point if need be. She is feisty on defense, she had a double-double this last season with points and steals. She can play defense without fouling I think due to being an excellent soccer player as well. She plays AAU for the SC 76ers. [player_tooltip player_id="171757" first="Kaycee" last="Smith"]: The 6’1 2022 center works and gets great position inside. She has an act for rooting people out and getting the space she wants down-low. She has no problem turning and scoring over her outside shoulder from either block, she needs to work on adding more moves to her repertoire to become more elite in the paint. She also can play out of the high post/pinch post area. She will face up her defender and drive to the rim no problem, and can shoot that mid-range jumper with ease. She is good on the boards, she had a handful of double-double’s this last season. She has tremendous upside if she keeps developing at the rate she has been. She plays AAU for the Palmetto 76ers.
