RICKEA JACKSON F/C 6-0 Detroit Edison Public School Academy 2017-18 stats: Averaged a double-double with 21.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game this season. Athletic, versatile perimeter prospect drains jumpers to the arc. She cleans the glass and attacks coast-to-coast in transition game and creates her own shots with body control to rim. Jackson has superior length in the front court and draws contact getting to the charity stripe. Jackson is the early leader for Miss Basketball 2019. She led her team to a second Class C state title and is the No. 9-ranked 2019 recruit in in the country by ESPN. Jackson, already Edison's all-time leading scorer and rebounder, reached the 1,000-point career milestone early in the season and is on track to reach 2,000 career. Michigan Gatorade Player-of-the-Year in 2018. Detroit Free Press Dream Team in 2018. AP 2nd-team Class C All-State in 2017. Detroit News 4th-team Class C All-State in 2016. JULIA AYRAULT G/F 6-2 Grosse Pointe North [caption id="attachment_17559" align="alignnone" width="300"] Julia Ayrault, (40) GPN junior, goes to the net.[/caption] 2017-18 stats: Committed to Michigan State, Ayrault averaged a school-record 19.1 points a game to go along with 10.3 rebounds and 4.5 blocks. A Perimeter performer who exploits mismatches and elevates and delivers in the key. Her quick 1st-step attack is hard to defend. She rebounds and pushes tempo and drives and delivers to the rim looking for contact. Has a feathery touch on jumpers with consistency. Led her team to the Class A final four before bowing to eventual state champ Saginaw Heritage. Scored 35 points in a game last season to set school record. Career stats include 16.4 points per game, 9.3 rebounds and 4 blocks. Detroit Free Press Michigan Dream Team in 2018. AP Honorable-Mention Class A All-State in 2017. MOIRA JOINER 5'9 G Saginaw Heritage Joiner, a three-time Associated Press all-stater, led Heritage to the Class A state championship in 2018, averaging 16 points, eight rebounds six assists and four steals. The 5-foot-9 point guard was named the Associated Press Class A Player of the Year. Joiner committed to Michigan State University. A talented floor leader, and she’s so versatile . Probably her strongest asset is that she can play any position on the floor and has a high I.Q. Defensively, she always draws the other team’s best player and manages to do an excellent job. KATE McARTHUR 5-7 G, Cousino (Warren) A tough, competitive floor-leader with a scorer's mentality. She is consistent with her mid-range game delivery and extends to the three point line. Her savvy basketball IQ and knock down jump shooter mentality make her a real threat. ACrafty combo-guard delivers off the dribble with smooth stroke. She handles and distributes in transition with ease. Committed to Clemson. McArthur is one of the top perimeter threats in the state, making 65 3-pointers and averaging 18 points last season. AP 1st-team Class A All-State in 2018. AP Honorable-Mention Class A All-State in 2017. ALEXIS JOHNSON, 5-11 F Southfield A&T She had a breakout season last winter, playing as a nice compliment to Deja Church, who is now at Michigan. She had 25 points and 10 rebounds in a close win against Detroit Renaissance and had 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocks in a win over North Farmington. She committed to Marshall. A solid perimeter player who can be just as effective in the paint. She works hard and pushes teammates. She make First Team All-State last year and looks to follow up this year with even greater goals. RANA ELHUSSEINI 5-4 G Dearborn Fordson Elhusseini also averaged 4.2 rebounds and 3.1 steals a night for a Fordson squad that finished the year with an overall record of 21-3 and claimed the program’s first district championship since 1999. In addition, she surpassed the 1,000-career point mark late in the season and will head into the 2018-19 campaign looking to add to her total of 1,073 career points. She averaged 16 points and 8.3 assists per game in 2017-18. Rana does everything for Fordson. She's a facilitator and a scorer. I don't know if there's another player in this state that means more to their team than she does. Opposing teams have trouble all game stopping Elhusseini and her penetration. She can shoot threes and drive, so it's very tough to defend.
