2020 Top Scorers in CIF Southern Section

<span style="font-size: 14pt">Now, you have girls who can get you a basket now and then and then you have girls who are gonna get a bucket anytime you need them too, well those are the girls we are going to discuss in this article.  We love girls who can get straight buckets, we think that it is a good skill set to have that makes you somewhat valuable to coaches on any level.  Do not get me wrong, you still have to be an exceptional athlete to compete at the D1 level, but they still love a kid who can just flat our score the ball.  Well, we are going to get to it, hope you enjoy these evals of these girls we looked up on several stat sites to confirm their numbers. <em><strong>(Parents, if your coach is not posting stats on Maxpreps or Scorebook Live, they are doing your kid an injustice.)</strong></em></span> &nbsp; <span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong>My stat information for these girls are from this link:</strong> </span> <span style="font-size: 12pt"><a href="https://www.maxpreps.com/leaders/girls-basketball/,scoring/california/southern+section/stat-leaders.htm?classyear=all&amp;position=all">https://www.maxpreps.com/leaders/girls-basketball/,scoring/california/southern+section/stat-leaders.htm?classyear=all&amp;position=all</a></span> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt"><strong>2020, 6'3, PF/C [player_tooltip player_id="49175" first="Cheyenne" last="Forney"]</strong> -  Cheyenne comes in as the <strong>#1, 2020 player in the southern section with</strong> <strong>31.8 ppg</strong> and she did this night in and night out at the centers position.  She scored in the paint, she scored from the midrange free throw line, she was a monster on the boards, so that gave her the best oppurtunity to score from putbacks and missed shot rebounds.  She was a force for her team and she is very well deserving of lead scorer in the southern section for the 2020 class.</span> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt"><strong>2020, 5'6, PG, [player_tooltip player_id="49210" first="Alyssa" last="Marin"]</strong> - Alyssa is a killer on the floor, she can score in so many ways as well this year she was impressive with her scoring repertoire and came in as the <strong>#6 scorer in the 2020 class in the southern section with</strong> </span><strong><span style="font-size: 18.6667px">21.6ppg</span></strong><span style="font-size: 14pt">.  She knocked down threes, she is good with the pull up midrange shots as well as got to the rim and finish against contact.  She was a team leader and the girls respected her game this season as we watched them play.  She is a skilled point guard for the 2020 class.</span> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt"><strong>2020, 5'8, SG, [player_tooltip player_id="101991" first="Jorday" last="Holmes"]</strong> - Jorday is smooth as they come, you can watch her play and not even know she has 20 points in the game, she comes in as the <strong>#8 scorer in southern section with 21.1ppg</strong>.  Jorday is illusive and plays the game with a nice IQ, she is not overly quick, but she gets the job done when she is playing on the court.  We love her skill set that includes, the midrange shot, getting to the rim and also knocking down the three pointer now and then. </span> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt"><strong>2020, 5'7, PG, [player_tooltip player_id="101978" first="Kaitlyn" last="Chen"]</strong> - Kaitlyn comes in as the <strong>#12 scorer from the 2020 class</strong> in the southern section with <strong>18.9 ppg</strong>.  Kaitlyn is also a killer on the floor, she commands the respect of her teammates and opponents as she plays, she is a master at the point guard spot and show it each and every game she plays.  She is going to play Ivy League in the Fall and is a great pickup for that league as a player, she is skilled with the dribble, she is skilled with the shot making ability and she has a ton of vision as a point guard.  She plays bigger than her size and takes advantage of smaller guards.</span> &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt"><strong>2020, 5'10, SF/PF, [player_tooltip player_id="101993" first="Nikki" last="Thompson"]</strong> - Nikki is a bruiser that has a nice skill set to play this game of basketball in a post type body.  She is athletic and strong and is one of the hardest working players I have seen in her class and that is why she is the <strong>#20 scorer</strong> with <strong>16.6ppg</strong>.  She can shoot the ball well from midrange and get to the rim and finish thru contact, but she can also handle the ball at her size and can rebound and push the ball on the break.  We love the body type and she is one of the better players in her area.</span> &nbsp;
