About Alana

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Playmaking guard who can handle the ball under pressure and make smart decisions. I look to score, create for teammates, and play tough defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a composed and mature player who stays calm under pressure, works hard every play, and leads my team by example on and off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Winner of the Jasper Award in elementary school for standing up for myself, showing early confidence, maturity, and leadership skills I carry into basketball.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed leadership by setting an example on and off the court, teamwork by supporting and encouraging my teammates, and confidence from facing challenges and standing up for myself. These skills help me compete at my best and make my team stronger.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Not getting playing time on varsity in 7th and 8th grade was a challenge, but it taught me patience, perseverance, and how to keep improving. I stayed focused in practice and used every opportunity to get better for my team.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want a college that challenges me both on the court and in the classroom, with coaches who push players to improve and a team environment that values hard work and teamwork.

Ramkishun controlled the offense with her ability to handle the ball and create scoring opportunities. She showed a very strong pull-up game, where she was 4/4 mixing in fading shots or floaters in the middle of the key. Her ability to draw contact consistently put pressure on the defense and got her to the free throw line. She played with patience, allowing plays to develop rather than forcing shots. Defensively, she contributed with solid positioning and effort. She also helped maintain tempo, keeping the team composed in key stretches. Her skill set allowed her to impact both scoring and playmaking. Ramkishun’s steady presence made her a key contributor for RTG.
