About Juliette

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m very competitive and really give 100%. I am a pretty good passer and would like to be a point guard in high school. I play good on ball defense and am trying to improve my help side.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m very competitive and I think that helps my game more than anything. I will do almost anything to help my team win. My goal in every game is to play as hard as I can and help to make my teammates better.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I also play soccer at a pretty high level. Haven’t had too many opportunities to join many clubs with all of my sports.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Competitiveness is my number one skill, but I have improved my leadership skills and try to consistently be a positive influence with my teammates. Both my parents have been varsity coaches and I have had the opportunity to learn a lot of things about the game by watching high school and college players. Most importantly, I have learned to compete and play hard regardless of the score.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Early on, I had a hard time focusing but that has improved. The biggest challenge has been on my seventh grade team where I was the only player to have played any real basketball. Since they were new, my teammates really didn’t want the ball, and so there was a lot of pressure. However, as the season went on, more of my passes were being caught and at times we had much improvement on the team.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to play at UConn like everyone else, but my parents have told me since I started that it’s more about finding the right place where I can improve and succeed. More importantly right now for me is to have a good high school career and see what happens.
