About Amelia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I have good defense and can get back on offense and score. If I get knocked over I get right back up and get in the play. I’m a good shooter and I’m still working on my posts moves but I can really score anywhere on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very passionate player, I want to be on the court and if I want something I will work hard to get it. I will keep fighting until the buzzer no matter if we are loosing or winning.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am currently on PSB, I am only a sub but i’m also player for Mile High Riot which is a small club a mom put together this year. I was on my local volleyball club called spike hawks from 8th-9th grade. I have received acedemic awards throughout middle school and i’m expected to get one this year for my 4.0 GPA.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

In middle school I had the honor to be on the Leadership team for my basketball team. Last year when I was in 8th grade my basketball team was very new to the sport, I took on helping my teammates how to play basketball and what the rules were to the sport. I love helping out my community whether it’s picking up trash or helping out with my local fair.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’m not sure if this counts as a challenge but throughout elementary and middle school I was bullied a lot. I was made fun of my height, being 5’1 by 3rd grade and 5’7 by 5th grade. During 5th grade a developed a lot of acne so I was called countless names like pepperoni face and just ugly, it really did destroy my confidence at such a young age and it was a challenge to learn to love myself again

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m not sure I would love to go D1 but with the school I’m at I’m not sure that’s possible, all I know is I want to go somewhere warm and where it won’t snow in may.
