Expert Analysis
Lathan Sepeda | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Laiya Butler brings good size and scoring potential to the University Lab backcourt. At 5-foot-9, she has the length to shoot over smaller defenders, attack the basket, and create matchup problems from the shooting guard position.
Butler has the tools to impact the game as a scorer while also using her size defensively and on the boards. As her confidence, consistency, and overall guard skills continue to develop, she could quickly become another name to watch in Louisiana’s talented 2029 class.
Long. Skilled. Full of upside. Laiya Butler is officially on the list and ready to make some noise.
