Over the next week or so, I'll have a few articles that are solely based on the senior class, offering advice and giving a sort of testimonial to their recruiting process to give the up-and-coming prospects a perspective from kids who have been through it. If players and families find some of the statements helpful, which I think you will, we can expand that idea. We can help potentially calm some nerves and help younger players understand the ups and downs of the recruitment process. However, before we get to that, we will look at some players to take notes on before grassroots basketball picks up later in June and in July.

Lead guards have to have a level of confidence that most kids don't have, and Walz has a quiet confidence in her game, which I love. The Wisconsin Lutheran guard is a player who is never afraid of a moment, a matchup, or a game. She is a competitive player who knows she can impact the game on both ends of the floor and has made significant shots in her few years with the Vikings. She may not be flashy, but she can help her team win games.

The Stoughton wing stepped into a more prominent role this season and looked comfortable in that role. Trautsch may be best suited as an off-ball guard who can space the floor, attack recovering defenses, and open the floor for her teammates. However, she showed she was capable of more this high school season, and will be a player I find time to see in July when I see her [program_tooltip program_id='713036' first='Wisconsin' last='Academy'] group.

The Germantown native is a talented guard who can make things happen with the ball in her hands. Like most young guards, there are some things to clean up, but there is much more to like than dislike about what Stuve can do. She handles the ball under pressure. Stuve also balances her creation for her teammates and hunts her own shot well. She will be a name to know for the Warhawks over the next few years.

Players from non-traditional talent areas can get lost in the shuffle early. However, Drazkowski will make a coaching staff at the next level happy if she continues to do what she does best. She is an athletic wing with size who can affect the game on both ends. I also like her ability to use her athletic tools to create space, and her shot is something she can work with at the next level.
