Potential Ranks Risers: 2028 Shooting Guards

There are many talented players not listed inside the top 100 of the Prep Girls Hoops ranks for the class of 2028. Here are five shooting guards who have more than enough skill and potential to rise up the ranks in the future.    Trinity Gradnberry had some great moments in her sophomore season for Houston High School.   Grandberry is a good scorer in transition and has the capability to step out and knock down 3-pointers. Grandberry on defense excels in covering space vertically. She has good straight-line speed to pick off passes or get blocks on wing players driving to the paint.   In a game against Briarcrest Christian High School, Grandberry had two blocks, one of which was a chase-down block on a fastbreak.     [player_tooltip player_id='1264132' first='Mckinlee' last='Parker'] is already having a good start to the summer hoop season.   In a recent tournament, Parker displayed what her game is all about: hustle. She is always looking for ways she can help her team get an edge. In the tournament, Prime Midwest Event, she had multiple offensive rebounds. She does a great job at slicing in and cutting in front of the opposing team to secure these offensive boards. Parker, in the tournament, also had an attempted steal that showed off her scrappiness. She created a loose ball and dove on the floor to try to secure her team a possession.   Parker is also a great 3-point shooter. She has the capability to lace in multiple long-range shots any time she steps on the court.     Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1859617' first='Arianna' last='Sutherland'] had a ton of impressive moments for Unaka High School in her sophomore season   Sutherland, throughout the year, played well offensively. Consistency is key to staying on the floor in high school basketball, and Sutherland provided that with both her shooting and offensive rebounding.   Sutherland had a six-game stretch where she made one or more 3-pointers. Also, Sutherland had multiple games with four or more offensive rebounds.   Sutherland, also at the shooting guard spot, has some upside as a passer. With all the skills she already has, she could definitely be up for a big junior season.     [player_tooltip player_id='1248872' first='London' last='Cotton'] has also been putting together a good early start to the summer hoops season.   One thing that immediately jumps out of Cotton is her passing ability. Cotton sees the floor on offense and defense better than most players in her class. She has good power behind her passes and is notably a detailed passer regarding her placement. For instance, if her center has a guard on them, Cotton knows to hit her post player high. She did this exact thing in a recent tournament that resulted in her center getting a bucket.   Cotton is also a solid 3-point shooter and a great perimeter defender       [player_tooltip player_id='875514' first='Kendall' last='Duncan'] is an absolute sharpshooter who definitely has a chance to move up the Prep Girls Hoops rankings in the future.   Duncan, in her sophomore season, made multiple 3-pointers on a nightly basis. In one game against Oakdale High School, she made five 3-pointers.   Duncan is mainly a threat behind the arc from catch-and-shoot actions. She is an especially dangerous shooter out of the corner. Also, she does not get bothered by closeouts. In the contest against Oakdale, where she made five 3-pointers, there were two occasions where two defenders closed out on a couple of her makes, and she remained unfazed.
