Top 5 Players I Saw - Pentagon Hardwood Challenge

There was a ton of talent down in Sioux Falls. These girls shown above the rest.    McCall was very impressive in person. She is an extremely quick guard who gets up the floor in a hurry. I was really impressed with her hesitation dribbles and her ability to see advantages and attack them. She is fearless driving to the basket and drew multiple fouls throughout the weekend. Her vision with the ball is next-level. She sees the floor like a true point guard and makes the right decisions with her passing. She played great defense as well. Her on-ball pressure was really fun to watch. Her coach couldn't afford to take her off of the floor.     I stand at 6'3 and walked past Lily this weekend and looked up to her. She is at least 6'4 now, if not 6'5. Her size and length is incredibly impressive and will have colleges all over this young prospect. She moves really well for a center and has established post-play fundamentals. She keeps the ball high on catches for easy baskets. She is a beast offensive rebounding and also keeps the ball high for quick put-backs. She was playing out of a double-post offense and cut naturally to the basket when her teammate had the ball on the block. Edinger is most polished on the defensive end. Her ability to defend without fouling, alter shots, keep smaller guards in front, and rebound will have college coaches calling her for the next four summers.     Martell was a beast around the basket. It was very hard for opponents to get past her defensively. She moved her feet well and utilized her strength for position. She is an impressive athlete with a strong base. Her upper body strength allows her to snag rebounds and secure possessions. Once she has that ball, she isn't giving it up. She ran the floor well and kept pressure in transition. Finally, she is a quality rebounder. Martell is going to earn some big minutes next season for a talented Century Patriots team.     Jalynn was exceptional. She looked like she was playing through some illness this weekend, yet continued to battle through it and produce. She is an impressive athlete with strong ball-handling skills. She makes great decisions in the pick-and-roll and is really tough in transition. She drives hard to the basket and finishes through contact for And-1 opportunities. She has the ability to stop her dribble on a dime, perform a 'punch-dribble', and knock down the three. Moorhead has a high-caliber point guard in Jalynn Janich.     Izzie was tremendous in [program_tooltip program_id='712708' first='ND' last='Attack']'s game against [program_tooltip program_id='1246823' first='Sanford' last='Sports Academy'] on Saturday night. She completely dominated the game on the offensive side of the ball. Her hesitation move was impressive and allowed her many easy scoring opportunities in the paint. She finished with both hands and knew when to get to the rim and when to shoot a floater. She doubled the post naturally, made her opponent pick the ball up, and recovered to the outside shooter with natural ease. She single-handedly kept her team in the game with her scoring and hit many timely three-pointers. She was easily one of the best players I saw this weekend.
