Rising Stars Shine at the Mystics Open Run

The event gave the Mystics' director and coaching staff another opportunity to evaluate players while competing in full-court 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 action. With players from several age groups taking the floor, there were a number of younger players who caught my eye with their skill, athleticism, and competitiveness. The guard made her presence felt during the 3-on-3 action with a steal and a sweet pass to set up a teammate. Her strong court vision carried over into the 5-on-5, where she handled the ball well and consistently saw the floor. Addison also showed strength around the basket by finishing through contact and made an impact defensively with active hands. The guard showed she wasn't intimidated by the older competition, displaying shifty ball-handling skills and using her quickness to create space. She also knocked down a smooth step-back three from the top of the key.
