About Phoebe
Expert Analysis
Jon Orr | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Kell has the potential to eventually become a player capable of taking over games as her skill set matures. The downhill scoring guard consistently attacked the basket, drawing defenders and creating opportunities for teammates.
Additionally, Kell looked comfortable shooting from around 19 feet and moving without the basketball. During five-on-five play, she established herself as a consistent offensive presence.
While her three-point shooting needs additional polish, the rest of her offensive game appears advanced for her age. Her ability to attack, create, and play without the ball gives her an intriguing offensive foundation.
Defensively, Kell brings the same aggressive mentality. She is physical and willing to hit the floor, take charges, and battle for loose balls.
Furthermore, she competes for difficult rebounds and embraces the less glamorous parts of the game. Those qualities are exactly what varsity coaches value from freshmen competing for meaningful minutes.
As her perimeter shooting develops, Kell has the tools to become an impactful two-way player early in her high school career.

Phoebe showed a great feel for the game along with exceptional skill handling the ball. She was especially nimble in traffic, navigating tight spaces with control and using a behind-the-back dribble that she could execute at will. Her shot looked good as well, featuring a quick release that she was comfortable getting to off the dribble. With her combination of handle, shot-making and feel for the game, it didn’t take long for Phoebe to establish herself as one of the top players in the gym.

Kell was effective turning defensive disruption into transition opportunities, challenging takes before securing the ball and pushing the other way. She showed confidence with the ball in her hands, including a behind-the-back move to transition smoothly into a drive. She also ran the floor well without the ball, getting ahead of the play and putting herself in position to finish with a layup.
