Elite 360 Camp: Player Evaluations
In this article:
This past Wednesday I attended another camp with Elite 360. There were quite a few very solid players in the building and I got to see them do skill work and play 3-on-3 and 4-on-4 in an intimate setting. To follow are some notes on each player at the event and a few players were able to impress me enough to move up in the updated rankings in August.
Ellie Bulman Ellie Bulman 5'9" | SF Gilbert | 2021 State IA – 2021 – Bulman played really well at the event. She was able to keep the defense off-balance all night long and showcased some really solid passing ability. I would have liked to see her become a little more aggressive because when she did get to the rim good things happened. Has great body control at the rim and knows how to use her body to shield defenders off the ball. She is a vocal leader on the floor.
Jayce Blanchard – 2023 – The first thing that sticks out to you about Blanchard is her length on the defensive end of the floor. She’s a very athletic guard who uses her length to defend well in the half-court. She was able to get to the rim well and finish but she was also able to break down the defense and create openings for others. She runs the floor really well and has a very solid feel for where she needs to be in transition.
Madi Bauer Madi Bauer 5'5" | PG Roland-Story | 2023 State IA – 2023 – Bauer was one of the best shooters or the evening as she consistently knocked down shots. She has a very fundamentally sound release and it is repeatable allowing her to repeat it easily. She ran the floor well both with and without the ball in her hands and was able to get into good spots to score. She was constantly talking on the offensive and defensive end of the floor as well showing her leadership.
Finley Fitzgerald Finley Fitzgerald 5'7" | SG Dallas Center-Grimes | 2023 State IA – 2023 – Fitzgerald showed at the event improved athleticism and very solid footwork in the post. She’s a wing and can score the ball at all three levels as shown by her knocking down a few 3-pointers at the event. She let the game come to her really well and never seemed like she was overwhelmed. Very solid basketball IQ and she was able to process the game very quickly with quick decisions.
Carly Carstens Carly Carstens 5'3" | PG Okoboji | 2023 State IA – 2023 – Carstens is a true point guard with range on her shot. She’s a thin and crafty guard who seems to never tire out. Finished at the rim well over taller defenders and showed the IQ to use the angles to her advantage. She has a nice touch around the rim and a very soft shot. She keeps the ball tight to her body and has proven that she will take care of it. She is a vocal guard out on the floor.
Alex Flattery – 2024 – Flattery is a very athletic player in the 2024 class. Right now she can play almost any spot on the floor with her athleticism and she will only continue to get better on the offensive end. She showed a great deal of fluidity with the ball on the evening and showed flashes of skill. As she develops she could be really solid.
Lilly Hillebrand – 2023 – Hillebrand showed a nice and smooth stroke from the outside. She was able to hit shots while not set which is the mark of a good shooter. She defended well all night long and had a very composed look to her game on both ends throughout. I really liked what she brought to the table.
Madison Demke – 2024 – Demke is a small but very quick and fast point guard. She was always moving around on the offensive end filling space and getting to where she needed to be. Finished well at the basket for her size and was able to shoot it a bit as well. A vocal leader on the floor on both ends.
Greta Dillinger – 2025 – Dillinger is an advanced guard for her age and showcased her skill really well as the youngest player in the event. She made good decisions with the ball in her hands and was able to get to the rim and finish. Her length helps her on the defensive end of the floor where she can be a lockdown defender.
Maggie Miner – 2023 – Miner was the player at the event that I was most impressed with. I thought that she showed a ton of improvement from last season and her scoring ability in the post was really solid. She shot it well but as a faceup-4 her post play was excellent. As she dedicates more time down in the post her stock could explode.
Katie Costello – 2024 – Costello is a solid guard who moves well without the ball and gets to the rim well. Good passer who passes her teammates open. I thought that she finished well at the basket with both hands and was able to keep the defense off-balance throughout the evening.
Aliyah Al-Hameed – 2024 – Al-Hameed put on a show the entire event. She was able to create space for herself off the dribble and score from all three levels. Showed a really nice step back from the top of the key and finished at the rim with both hands. She has a very bright future on the floor ahead of her.
