Hoellen’s name preceded her, as her club coach told me he had a player I needed to see, and voila, in the 3-on-3, she proved him correct because she was “long and athletic,” a couple of shades under “the magic number” yet her “on the ball” pressure was sometimes smothering. Her intensity on defense continued when the bright lights of the 5-on-5 started, as she hit the boards on both ends; scored off the dribble, gave me the pull-up jumper, and played the passing lane
