First Up: Top 50 Court 2

Day 2 at the Top 50 event gave us another chance to see players settle in, adjust to the competition, and find ways to separate themselves from the pack. With some of the first-day nerves and unfamiliarity out of the way, several players found their rhythm and gave us a better look at what they can bring to the floor. Here are a few who made sure we noticed them.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Minnesota Lynx vs Dallas Wings</h3>    From pulling down contested boards and ripping away balls on tie-ups to knocking down smooth threes, Ruby found ways to impact the game all over the floor. She plays with a smooth, selfless style and doesn't need to dominate the ball to make her presence felt. Her left-handed shot can catch defenders off guard, especially when she gets a clean look from deep, while her toughness and willingness to battle for possession add another layer to her game.     Our favorite player to watch in this game was Liv, who found a way to stand out despite being one of the smallest players on the floor. If there was action, Liv was usually right in the middle of it. She created deflections and steals with relentless high-pressure defense, knocked down threes, and consistently disrupted what the offense was trying to do. What really stood out was her ability to stop the drive and immediately recover back into defensive position without giving up an advantage. Her size never felt like a limitation because her quickness, effort, and defensive instincts more than made up the difference.     Cam was a shot-blocking machine in the first game, using her length and timing to make getting to the rim difficult. She also showed off a sweet set of 3-pointers and is developing a great hook from underneath that is becoming almost impossible to defend. What continues to make Cam intriguing is her versatility—she can impact the game around the rim and then step outside and play more like a guard, creating matchup problems no matter where she is on the floor.     Kamry was one of the smallest players on the floor, but she never let her size dictate how she played. She is super quick, able to change direction and leave her defender. She wasn't afraid to challenge bigger players, attack when outnumbered, or put herself in the middle of the action. That fearlessness, paired with her ability to find ways to be effective against bigger competition, should make her a valuable piece for Grantsville this season.     A small-school player who definitely doesn't play small. She knocked down several effective shots from behind the arc and showed a strong handle that allowed her to stay composed when defenders applied pressure. What stood out was her timing with the ball—she knows when to keep the dribble alive and when to kick it out to an open teammate. She takes care of the basketball, keeps her turnovers low, and makes smart decisions without trying to force something that isn't there.
