The Expo: Watch List Players Making Their Case

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With The Expo coming up this Saturday at MSA Fieldhouse in Grand Rapids, it's a great opportunity for players to make their case for a spot in the rankings. There are several prospects from the 2027, 2028, and 2029 classes currently on our rankings watch list who have already done enough to get on our radar, but we'd like to see more. The Expo provides a chance to compete against talented players in front of our staff and show us why they belong in the next rankings update. Her size and length at the guard position caught my attention, along with her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor. She showed she could disrupt passing lanes defensively while also stretching the floor with her shooting from behind the arc. It's been a while since I've had the opportunity to watch her, but when I did, her speed, defensive activity, and ability to score from different areas of the floor caught my attention. She showed quick hands defensively, pushed the pace in transition, and was a threat from both behind the arc and in the mid-range. When I watched her at the PGH Freshman Showcase, she showed a willingness to run the floor, battle on the offensive glass, and attack the basket through contact. She also made an impact defensively with active hands that helped create turnovers. I watched her with [program_tooltip program_id='1352777' first='Grand' last='Rapids Thunder'] at the PGH Michigan State Tournament, where her versatility and ability to contribute on both ends caught my attention. She showed good instincts defensively, came away with steals, and competed on the glass from the guard position. Offensively, Emily knocked down shots from the perimeter while also creating for her teammates with smart drive-and-kick reads. When I watched her with [program_tooltip program_id='1244063' first='Great' last='Lakes Grind'] at the PGH Michigan State Tournament, I liked the way she played without the ball and made smart reads within the offense. She timed her cuts well, worked effectively in the pick-and-roll, and used seals to create opportunities around the basket. Alyse also showed the ability to grab a defensive rebound and immediately push the pace in transition. I'd love another opportunity to watch her compete and see where her game is now as we continue evaluating players for our rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
