PGH Up Next Wisconsin-Team 4 Evaluations (Part 1)

I had the opportunity to watch the PGH Up Next showcase at The Champion Center, on Sunday, and the talent was off the charts! Here is part 1 of my Team 4 evaluations.

I liked what I saw from Miller on Sunday at the Up Next showcase. She is physical, aggressive, and likes to mix it up, both on the boards and defensively. One of Team 4's strongest rebounders, Miller was virtually unmovable when she established position showing good ability to finish through contact at the basket.

Marshall, a 5-7 Oconomowoc product impressed me with her feel for the game and intangibles that she brings to the floor. Understanding floor spacing, Marshall made strong, intelligent cuts, and showed a good ability to finish, both in traffic and in the post. Defensively she never took a play off impressively chasing down a fast break to block an open layup attempt.

Williams was one of the more dynamic offensive weapons that I had the opportunity to watch on Sunday. Explosive athlete that was able to get to the paint, at will, all afternoon showcasing true three-level scoring ability. One of the better ballhandlers, Williams tight handles allowed her to get to a deadly mid-range package. Defensively, she had probably 4 or 5 steals, in the first game leading to layups.

Lemke, although one of the smaller players on the court, showed good traits that will serve her well as she gains size and strength. Scrappy player, Lemke is another definition of a "high ceiling" player. She competes, both on the boards and defensively and understands angles, floor spacing, and showed she could knock down the open jumper which she did both in the 3 v 3 and 5 v 5 portions of the day.
