PGH Up Next Wisconsin-Team 4 Evaluations (Part 2)

I had the opportunity to watch the PGH Up Next showcase at The Champion Center, on Sunday, and the talent was off the charts! Here is part 2 of my Team 4 evaluations.

I liked what I saw watching Wilson at The Up Next showcase last weekend. Her off the ball play is what impressed me the most. Quick, aggressive defensive hands paired with a high motor made her jump out amongst her peers. Strong on the boards, on both ends, Wilson used her strength, and anticipation to pull down multiple boards in each game and was, in my opinion, at her best screening the ball and rolling to the hoop.

Johnson, on a team with aggressive shooters, looked comfortable doing all of the little things on Sunday. Competing on every possession, and battling for every board, the 5-5 Seymour product showed the type of traits that high school coaches love to see with the ability, on a handful of occasions to knock down both open and contested jumpers.

On of the more dynamic outside shooters, that I watched on Sunday, Puttkamer impressed with her arsenal of offensive moves. On the perimeter, Puttkamer was equally comfortable with catch/shoot situations as she was using strong handles to get to her spots.

It took a little bit for Flores to get into the flow of the game, but when she did, she flashed impressive potential! Long and lanky, with room to add strength, Flores competed with a high motor and showed great ability on defense battling for steals and blocking several shots. Never conceding anything, Flores, on one play, chased down a breakaway layup firing up her team with her effort. As she adds strength, she will only become a better rebounder, as she never concedes a board to the other team and is sneaky good at finding position.
