Prep Girls Hoops took in the action at The Showdown 2020 being held in Spartanburg this past weekend. The event was being played at the Upward Star Center. Lets take a look at some of the action from Saturday right here. Plenty of coverage from the event this week here on the site. Lets take a look at some 2021 Palmetto State players that played well on the opening day.

Adams has a constant MOTOR that just keeps on going while on the floor. Adams was active in the passing lanes and making plays for teammates. Adams averaged 13 ppg this past season for the Lady Stallions (27-3). Adams does a bit of everything on the floor to help her team win games.

Watts a All-State performer this past season for the Lady Red Devils played very well in the game we took in today. Watts plays with a local Grassroots team and is a bit off the grid. Watts a small forward is extremely active on the floor and has a great nose for the ball. Watts was great with 2-3 dribbles before approaching the cup. Watts rebounded the ball well on both ends of the court. Watts showed to have good footwork on the floor. Watts averaged 13 ppg and 8.5 rebounds this past season for the Lady Red Devils (22-5).
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="175306" first="Jayla" last="Mosley"] - Legacy Early College - Lady Team South Carolina </strong>
Mosley came up big for Lady Team South Carolina in a opening round win over A’ja Wilson Elite. Mosley a left-handed forward did most of her damage around the cup. Mosley a Hillcrest HS transfer hit a late shot in regulation to put the game into overtime. Mosley will be a nice addition to the Lady Lions roster this season.

Etheredge is a very skilled combo guard. Etheredge and her teammates struggled a bit today with scoring the ball. Etheredge has a great motor on the floor and really picks up as a on the ball defender. Etheredge doesn’t mind sacrificing her body to dive for a loose ball on the floor.

Barnes and her teammates saw a tough opening day of action from here at The Showdown 2020. Barnes is a very versatile forward who can cover a lot of ground while on the floor. Barnes is active in the passing lanes and very versatile. Barnes connected on a few three pointers and at times handle the ball in the open court.

Hayes plays down in the paint and isn’t afraid throw her body around to draw contact. Hayes plays the game extremely hard and runs the floor very well in transition. Hayes will return back to the SCISA ranks this season over at Trinity Collegiate. Hayes played last season at nearby Wilson HS.
