She finished as the 3rd leading scoring behind two seniors from Seneca in the early contest. She was able to get the cup at will with a quick first step, and was constantly around the rim mixing it up on rebounds. Ava showed that she is comfortable playing all 3 guard positions on the day and was able to handle the pressure against aggressive guard play. By reading the floor and making the best play for her team, Ava showed poise that will serve her well this season at Mauldin.

Length and speed are key characteristics of Mia's game. She is at her best getting out in passing lanes or getting ahead on the break. Able to score at all 3 levels, Mia is a dangerous matchup for smaller guards, or slower post players. She showed a nice ability to handle the ball and attack on several occasions, and the ability to step out for catch and shoot opportunities. Look for her to be solidly in the mix for the Daniel Lions this season.

One of the quickest guards on the floor regardless of class on the day, Jakiya was all over the defense end of the floor. She also used her size and quickness to get into gaps on the offensive of the floor before playing off two feet and setting up her teammates. Part of her package includes a soft floater touch from 6' out that she was able to connect with multiple times today.

A solid rebounder and defender for her DYB team, Addi wins the hustle award for the day. On more than one occasion she tied up loose balls on the floor, and could be seen battling for rebounds against Seneca. She has good size and ball instincts already, so be on the look out for her to continue her upward trajectory as her confidence grows.

Amara is another combo guard for her talented DYB 2031 team. In the matchup today she played primarily as a utility type player in several different roles depending on her coaches needs. From guarding bigger players and smaller players alike, to hustling for loose balls, trapping on defense, and more, Amara did a lot of the dirty work necessary for her team to hold their own in the matchup with Seneca.

An unselfish shooter that likes to hunt assists just as much as points, Maddi looked confident and comfortable for much of the contest Sunday. She handled the bulk of PG responsibilities in the first half for DYB and saved several possessions for her squad by forcing Seneca turnovers. Heading to the Powdersville varsity squad this season she will have lots of opportunities to showcase her shooting touch as the season progresses.

One of true post on this DYB squad Makenzie took on one of the hardest matchups of the day and held her own against an experienced senior. She brings physicality and toughness around the glass for DYB, and showed some nice patience with her back to basket. She connected on a few jump hooks through contact and drew fouls on multiple occasions. Look for her to take a step up in her game this season as she continues to add more post moves to her repertoire.

This tough guard will be playing at T.L. Hanna this season as a young who can shoot, handle, and defend. The second leading scoring for her DYB squad Sunday, Anniston stepped up in the second half on both ends of the floor. She did a great job of reading and moving into open spaces for her squad which led to a 3, a drive and layup, and 2 trips to the charity stripe all in a few minute stretch. Look for her to get quality minutes for Hanna this season as an 8th grader.

A tall lean post that looks ready to develop into a stretch four as her career continues, Kailee has a frame that is ready to be built for the next level. She does a nice job using that length to disrupt passes and get deflections while being a steady anchor on the defense end. As her game continues to develop around the other post on her team, look for her to start expanding her range to space the floor and handle the rock with confidence. She has a high upside that T.L. Hanna is ready to tap into as her career develops.

A space heater for DYB, Brooklyn holds down the middle as an anchor on the defensive end. She gobbles up rebounds and outlets the ball with a good efficiency which allowed her guards to get out in transition. As her career progresses look for Brooklyn to become more of a scoring threat and two way player that Hanna will be able to rely on for many years to come.
