The BCLUW defense was scary-good in 2019-20, holding opponents to under 40 points per game in going 15-9 overall. The Comets will need to replace three seniors, but four players who started at least 14 games return led by juniors <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="163338" first="Allison" last="Engle"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="163328" first="Chloe" last="Walters"]</strong>. Last year, Engle averaged 11 points and almost six rebounds per game, shooting 35 percent from the field and 36 percent from the three-point line. Walters, meanwhile, recorded almost 12 points and over seven boards a night, shooting nearly 64 percent from the floor.

To post a winning record this season, Beckman will need some younger players to step into bigger roles. The Trailblazers graduated four seniors, with three of them holding down key spots a year ago. Junior <strong>Lauren Osterhaus</strong> returns along with senior <strong>Kennedy Arens</strong> to lead the way. Osterhaus scored 10.5 points with over five rebounds and almost three steals a game last year with Arens adding 13 points and nearly five boards a night. Arens and Osterhaus made 37 three-pointers a year ago, with Arens also getting to the free throw line 163 times to lead the team.

Scoring was at a premium for Bedford last year, as the Bulldogs averaged just 37 points per game. However, they return 10 players, losing just three seniors from that group. Among those set to return are leading scorer <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="164991" first="Kennedy" last="Weed"]</strong>, as the senior posted 12 points per game last year. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="165026" first="Darcy" last="Davis"], Macie Sefrit, Kelly Weed </strong>and <strong>Emily Baker</strong> were all between four-and-five points a night. Baker also recorded a team-leading eight rebounds a game.
