Class of 2021 Rankings: Brian’s New Additions (Part 2)

With every Rankings update, our staff likes to highlight new players that have been added to the rankings in each class. Here are several from the Class of 2021 that have been included in the newest update: #118 [player_tooltip player_id="123619" first="Asya" last="Smith"] 5’7 Pleasant Plains High School / Illinois Predators Lowis The best pure point guard that I saw this summer, Asya plays with heart and a motor that never quits. She can attack the rim and has a knack for finding her teammates open at the time for them to succeed. She can hit the 3 ball while also blowing by her defender with her quick, low handles. A lock down defender, Asya will be able to defend both guard spots at the collegiate level. # 119 [player_tooltip player_id="194227" first="Olivia" last="Hopp"]  Stark County High School / Illinois Warriors White: An absolute knockdown shooter, Olivia has one of the best jumpers I saw all summer.  She can score from all 3 levels. A physical player, Oliva has the build and strength to handle the college game and be an instant contributor. #121 [player_tooltip player_id="194229" first="Kelci" last="Shelton"] 5’5 Monmouth Roseville High School / Illinois Valley Warriors White An athletic point guard with unreal court vision, Kelci will make any college program happy. With a skill set that could fit any system, Kelci is what you want in a point guard. She attacks the rim physically and has an effective jump stop and great balance. When the ball is in her hands, she has full control of the game. Kelci also has a pretty jump shot. #132 [player_tooltip player_id="194225" first="Brooke" last="Runge"] 5’9 Altamont High School / Illinois Aristocrats A combo guard, who will be able to play both positions at the collegiate level, Brooke brings great length to the court. She is always on the lookout for the open teammate and runs the break very effectively. Brooke can knock down the 3 but also score around the rim off her aggressive attacking. #133 [player_tooltip player_id="194226" first="Bailey" last="Wallbaum"]  5’7” 2021 PORTA High School / Illinois Inferno A lockdown defender, Bailey isn’t afraid of anyone. She can guard multiple positions, works her tail off and bring solid fundamentals to the court. A true leader, Bailey is a coach’s dream teammate and player. #138 [player_tooltip player_id="194117" first="Emma" last="Slagle"] 5’11 Winchester High School / Illinois Inferno A terrific athlete, Emma brings a great skill set to the game.  She can run the floor, hit a jumper and attack the rim with force.  She has the ability to knock down the 3 and, at her length, that makes her a nightmare matchup. #140 [player_tooltip player_id="194091" first="Addison" last="Scarlette"] 5’7 Sacred Heart-Griffin / Illinois Predators Lowis An absolute joy to watch on the court, Addison would be terrific addition to any college program. A multi-sport athlete, Addison never seems to run out of energy on the court. She has a solid jumper to go along with a no fear attitude.  She will hit the glass hard and rack up the boars and isn’t afraid to battle or defend anyone. She excels at finishing around the rim. # 141 [player_tooltip player_id="194232" first="Mallory" last="Powers"] 5’11 Amboy High School / Illinois Midwest Wildcats: A long, great athlete that can score from all 3 levels on the court, Mallory is full of potential. At her length she can play anywhere from the two guard to a stretch four. She isn’t afraid to attack the rim and has a nice jumper that can knock down a three.  She runs the floor well and when she has the ball, she pushes the tempo and is on the lookout for an open teammate.
