The Top 250 Expo was a huge success full of so many talented athletes. Each prospect brought something different to the floor and it was exciting to see how elite Wisconsin girls basketball is. Take a look at some of the breakdowns after watching each girl compete on Sunday.
Alexis McNack Alexis McNack 5'9" | PG Milwaukee Lutheran | 2021 State WI | 5’7 | Milwaukee Lutheran
McNack brought a lot of flare to the expo. Her offensive ability is impressive and she displayed a range of finishing moves and handled defensive pressure very well. Ranked 33 in the state, McNack brings elite footwork and athleticism to the game. She has a scorers mentality and gets to the paint effortlessly.
Jamera Bean | 5’5 | Milwaukee Lutheran
Bean is definitely one of the biggest stock risers coming out of the Top 250 expo. She displayed so much skill and can handle the ball extremely well. She’s a pure point guard who finds her teammates open in transition and pushes the ball the entire length of the floor. She goes coast to coast and doesn’t shy away from contact inside. Her pull up jumper is effective and she has range far beyond the arc. She fed her post players incredibly well. A high ceiling prospect!
Katie McCabe | 6’0 | Wauwatosa West
McCabe brought a great attitude to the event and was simply just doing all the little things right. She’s super athletic and can play a lot of minutes on the floor. She’s a high tempo player that knows her role. She understands the game and moves well without the ball. At 6’0, McCabe is a rebounding specialist and see’s points off her strong box out and ability to finish put back baskets.
Shiauna Nixon Boyd | 5’9 | Riverside
Nixon-Boyd is continuing to develop many aspects of her game. She’s a workhorse off the court and it shows as each time she competes she’s more and more dynamic. She’s shown she has a high ceiling for being an elite passer and facilitator on the floor. She has incredible vision for her own shot but has also improved finding her teammates open in the half court. She’s a solid defender who makes great reads on passes. She has the tools to be a quick impact defender at the next level.
Kaley Dupree | 5’9 | Rufus King
Dupree displayed great versatility and intelligence at the Top 250 expo. She is an incredibly explosive guard that can really fly when going downhill. Her elevation is crazy for her size, often making the highlight finish move inside. She’s also a great lead guard if need be. She sets up her teammates perfectly on cuts and off screens. She plays with admirable confidence and isn’t phased by pressure.
Halle Boldt | 5’8 | Sheboygan South
Boldt had a great expo displaying her ability to score at three levels. She plays with great pace on the floor and has a great shot selection. Although she is not the quickest player, she flies by defenders with her shiftiness. Boldt has a great hesitation move and is phenomenal at selling the fake. Defensively she does well moving her feet and keeping her defender in front.
Maya White Eagle Maya White Eagle 5'7" | CG Madison Memorial | 2021 State WI | 5’5 | Baraboo
White Eagle is a quick and composed combo guard who can also play the lead guard at any moment. Her handle and flow are extremely effective and she impacts the game so much on the offensive end. Her shooting stroke is one of if not the smoothest in her class. She needs little to no room to knock it down from behind the arc and she does it with consistency. She has great patience when she’s in the lane and utilizes her pivot foot very well. White Eagle plays with high IQ instincts that will make her a special player at the next level.
Aaleyah Jones Aaleyah Jones 5'5" | PG Milwaukee Riverside | 2021 State WI | 5’5 | Riverside
It was very exciting to see Jones compete at the Expo as she has become such a rising talent this summer. She’s added so much to her game and is going to be the go-to impact player for her high school squad. She’s become a competitive all around point guard who can facilitate and be a successful two-way player. She’s a scrappy guard who is super athletic and versatile with her shot selection and passes. Her court vision is exceptional and she clearly just has a great feel for the game. Jones can knock down the perimeter shot from behind the arc as well.
Jaiden Claypool | 5’7 | Riverside
Claypool is going to be a huge asset to her high school team this season as she put on a great show at the Top 250 Expo. She stood out for her defense first before showing she is just as powerful on the offensive end. Defensively, Claypool is active the entire time on the floor and has quick footwork. She defends the first step very well and knows how to make her player turn direction. Offensively, Claypool has a quick mid range jumper that was tough for players to defend.
