The 2023 is an incredibly deep class with a lot of talent throughout the field. Outside of the top players, there are many players with upside - containing favorable traits and who are still augmenting their games. [player_tooltip player_id="158549" first="Tabi" last="Searle"] for NW Stars is a player with upside on the perimeter as her length alone aids her in making plays all over the court. [player_tooltip player_id="158563" first="Rilyn" last="Quirke"] is an inside/out forward who plays with tremendous effort defensively and can score alongside the arc. [player_tooltip player_id="211125" first="Ava" last="Prechel"] is a traditional point guard who favors running an offensive rather than scoring on her own. [player_tooltip player_id="158559" first="Malaya" last="Lesueur"] is a flashy guard who plays with a good motor on defense which translates to the offensive game. [player_tooltip player_id="158548" first="Micah" last="Wicks"] is an electric point guard who plays with a lot of flair and style, running the offense with a lot of exuberance.
[player_tooltip player_id="158549" first="Tabi" last="Searle"] 2023 5’10" SG NW Stars/Tualatin HS - Upon first glance, Searle looks to be an athlete - near six feet she is a guard with good wing span and length. On the court, Tabi is a guard who uses these attributes as an engaged defender and rebounder. Her biggest attribute on offensive is her ability to sink the shot from the perimeter, but her size alone helps her as a scorer in the paint. Tabi’s best basketball is certainly in head of her as she continues to put together her game.
[player_tooltip player_id="158563" first="Rilyn" last="Quirke"] 2023 6’0" PG NW Stars/Barlow HS - Rilyn is a blue-collar forward who rebounds well inside the paint and plays defensive with grit and discipline. She also has the ability to stretch the floor as a perimeter shooter. Quirke is an inside player who combines the ability to shoot it alongside the arc - something that is hard to come by. She has a physical presence but combines this with perimeter skills such as shooting and passing.
[player_tooltip player_id="211125" first="Ava" last="Prechel"] 2023 5’6" PG Oregon Elite/Corvallis HS - Ava is the younger sister of [player_tooltip player_id="158530" first="Elka" last="Prechel"] of Corvallis HS, however, the comparison stops right then and there. She is a steadfast floor general who is incredibly patient and plays at a constant pace, surveying the field at a steady pace. Prechel played for Oregon Elite White where she was able to showcase these skills on a bigger scale, as she is also a nifty defender with good discipline.
Malaya Luesueur 2023 5’9" SG Holla/Benson Tech - Malaya is a guard who plays with a certain swagger, particularly on offense as she has a good mid-range game and can take it to the cup as well. A good defender who plays with wit and awareness. She is most known to pick off the steal and take it in transition herself. Still developing as a player as she is working on her ball handling and playmaking abilities.
[player_tooltip player_id="158548" first="Micah" last="Wicks"] 2023 5’5" PG All-In/Sutherlin HS - Micah was something of a hidden gem in 3A Sutherlin as the suave point guard helped lead them to the 3A State Championship game versus rival Clatskanie. She played her AAU season this All-In, as a witty floor general who picks up the pace at the drop of a pen. Wicks can get through the defense with a quick first step and finds teammates all over the floor for scores.
