The 2021 class is a good one overall but there are a few players who have been waiting their turn to be a star. Here’s a look at some role players who are looking for a bigger role in their Senior season.
[player_tooltip player_id="88423" first="Kenady" last="Tompkins"], Scott County - Tompkins waited her turn at Scott County as they graduated a pair of D1 players last season. Now it’s her chance to be the go to scorer for a team that will also be looking for her to lead what will be a relatively young roster.
[player_tooltip player_id="88452" first="Laci" last="Reinhart"], Dixie Heights - Back off an injury, Laci had a big season of AAU, adding several offers. Heading into her senior season, she will pair with Sydney Lockhart to form one of the best backcourts in the 9th region. They’ll have a chance to surprise plenty of teams in 2021.
[player_tooltip player_id="88444" first="Jayden" last="Crist"], Ryle - Sure, Ryle lost a lot (including 2020 Miss Basketball) but there is plenty of depth to go along with some young stars for the Lady Raiders. Crist has been a solid role player for the last few seasons but should be ready to contribute more as a starter or first player off the bench.
[player_tooltip player_id="154510" first="Aubrey" last="Hill"], Russell - She gets overshadowed by two teammates who have been gathering offers over the last few seasons but Hill could be the key for Russell to make a run to Rupp Arena and be a legitimate contender to cut the nets in March. Look for Aubrey to be among the top rebounders in the region.
[player_tooltip player_id="212096" first="Lacie" last="Parks"], Madison Southern - Parks has been sitting out after a transfer but she played well enough this summer to earn a stack of offers that keeps growing. She and [player_tooltip player_id="88451" first="Samantha" last="Cornelison"] should team up to give Madison Southern a shot to win the 11th region.
