Jordan Durant Jordan Durant 5'6" | PG Butler | 2021 NC | Butler HS
Durant has had a phenomenal summer, and I am sure that will continue playing her senior season in high school. She is a threat on both ends of the court knowing how to read her opponents waiting for the perfect time to jump into passing lanes or pick the pocket of the guards on the other team. This translates well to her creating her own offense with fast break opportunities that she can easily take all the way herself. She can certainly take over on offense controlling the tempo of the game as well as score the ball from all over the court. Additionally, she has a nice shot from downtown.
Jael Hall Jael Hall 5'7" | PG Concord First Assembly | 2021 NC | Concord First Assembly
Hall has a wide range of ball handling skills that she can use to protect the possession and score from anywhere on the court. She uses hesitation moves, up and unders, Euro steps, and the list seems to go on and on with what she can do with the ball. She knows the right timing of when to make her moves to blow by defenders or even put on the speed when making a fast break to the basket. She has great vision of the court, too, seeing where her open teammates are to make a pass, seeing gaps in the defense for Hall herself to move into to get an open shot, or tracking the ball to grab a rebound for a second chance opportunity.
Nahndi Smith Nahndi Smith 5'7" | PG Asheville Christian | 2021 NC | Asheville Christian Academy
Smith’s IQ is apparent every time she steps on the court. She shows great leadership and has even before her upcoming senior season. Her decisive moves make it very difficult for her opponents to guard her. She knows exactly where to move with the ball when she gets a pass, and she has a quick release with her shot from downtown. Smith does a great job separating herself from her opponent, too, in order to get her shot off if she needs to. She controls the tempo of the game herself when bringing the ball up the court. She does an excellent job of penetrating in the paint and scoring or dishing it out to her teammates to knock down their own shots.
Diamond Thomas Diamond Thomas 5'4" | PG Knightdale | 2021 NC | Knightdale
Thomas is a sneaky guard who seems to pick the pocket of her opponents with ease. She takes these steals to the other end of the court on fast breaks using speed and decisive moves to get to the basket. She has a nice shot from downtown as well as many areas of the court. She does an amazing job playing through any kind of contact and finds herself with old fashioned three point play opportunities. She isn’t just a scorer, though, as she knows how to get all of her teammates involved finding them ready to show off their own jump shots.
Emerie Tillmon Emerie Tillmon 5'8" | PG Cox Mill | 2021 NC | Cox Mill
Tillmon has been fun to watch this summer as she knows how to take over a possession. She reads the court well and knows how to make her moves to get her teammates involved, or take it all the way for a score herself. She can drive in for the layup, or she can drive and stop for a jump shot. She has a nice shot from downtown, too, making her a threat from all over the court. Don’t be surprised to see her take the ball end to end after grabbing the rebound herself and pushing it up the court. She moves well without the ball, too, making sure she finds the open areas in the defense and is always an asset for her team.
