500th Article: 10 Senior PG’s To Watch

I’ve been lucky in life to be able to do what I do for a living. I’ve had the privilege of watching and scouting literally thousands of basketball players. In doing so, I’ve now published over 500 articles for Prep Girls Hoops. In honor of my 500th article, I’m going to give you 10 senior point guards to watch this high school season. <img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-218913" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/pgh-small.png" alt="" width="288" height="122" /> <strong>Mackenzie Egge</strong><strong>r (PG, Mt. Pleasant)</strong> Egger is under rated as a next level prospect. She has solid positional size and strength to go along with a well rounded game. Egger has a high basketball IQ as well. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138355" first="Makayla" last="Fuerst"] (PG, Waterford Mott)</strong> Fuerst is an old school floor general at heart. She sets the offense and initiates with a solid pass. Fuerst has such a good feel for the game and can orchestrate her team accordingly. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138403" first="Kallie" last="Harrison"] (PG, Bloomingdale)</strong> Harrison is an exciting senior point guard. She can play as a scoring lead guard, as well as play pass first. Harrison can get hot with her jumper and give her opponents fits. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="177291" first="Alivia" last="Knapp"] (PG, Three Rivers)</strong> Knapp has been surrounded by star power for most of her high school career. I have to believe that she will have a lot more responsibility in the offense this season, and I think she’s ready for it. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138328" first="Alexis" last="McCully"] (PG, East Kentwood)</strong> Don’t look past McCully, she’s one of the most dynamic point guards in the state. She’s under rated as an athlete and can lead an offense at any pace. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138301" first="Emaia" last="O’Brien"] (PG, Chandler Park)</strong> I just had to put O’Brien on the list. She’s so explosive in all facets of the game. From scoring to swiping the ball on D, if there’s a big play to be made, O’Brien will make it. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138350" first="Sarah" last="Soraghan"] (PG, Royal Oak)</strong> I’ve been a huge fan of Soraghan’s game for well over a year now. I though she was EXCELLENT last high school season. She set the offense, scored, and dished, all at a high level. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138339" first="Taylor" last="Watkins-Johnson"] (PG, Westland John Glenn)</strong> I under rated Watkins-Johnson for too long. I guess I didn’t realize what an exciting all around athlete she is. She is smooth with the ball, fast getting up and down the floor, and makes smart passes. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="175807" first="Diamond" last="Williams"] (PG, Flint Beecher)</strong> Williams is at her best when paired with a solid shooter or all around scorer at the 2 spot. She creates space and maneuvers the defense to free up her back court partner. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="28016" first="Kayiona" last="Willis"] (PG, Southfield A &amp;T)</strong> I’ve wrote a lot about Willis over the last month, and for good reason. She just seems to have a different feel this year. She’s confident and ready for the season to start. I’m predicting big things.
