Top Players in the GMC for 2020-2021

The GMC is one of the best conferences for girls basketball in New Jersey. Year after year, the conference is full of elite talent in all grades. Here are the top players for the 2020-2021 season. <strong>Brianna Montajes (2021) | Middlesex</strong> Montajes was the leader of a Middlesex team that featured two star juniors a season ago. She averaged 14 points per contest wile being the leading free throw shooter on the roster. <strong>Akyia Baker (2021) | St. Thomas Aquinas</strong> St. Thomas Aquinas is losing [player_tooltip player_id="134586" first="Emma" last="Boslet"] from their back-to-back GMC championship teams. It is up to Baker to step into that leadership role on both ends. She is a dynamic offensive player that can lead the way moving forward. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="155466" first="Tiffany" last="Fischer"] (2022) | South River</strong> As a sophomore, Fischer showed skill that was well beyond her years. She averaged over 16 points per game along with eight rebounds and five assists. Fischer was the leader on the defensive end as well using her quick feet and hands to come up with 99 steals. <strong>Nina Branchizio (2021) | Monroe</strong> Branchizio did most of her work from beyond the arc. She knocked down 48 three’s to lead Monroe a season ago. The team knew how to get her the ball in position to get a shot off. Branchizio was alway active on the outside to find the open spot in a defense. <strong>Kristen Yonker (2021) | Middlesex</strong> Yonker is the other star in the Class of 2021 for Middlesex. Yonker was the three-point threat on the perimeter as she finished with 50 makes on the season. She trailed only Montajes in scoring and rebounding. <strong>Raegan Fogarty (2023) | Calvary Christian</strong> Calvary Christian won 21 games last season and it was largely in part because of their freshman sensation. She led the team in scoring and was second in rebounding in her first high school season. <strong>Stephanie Van Note (2021) | Sayreville </strong> Sayreville is setup well for the upcoming season with Van Note and Brooke Holland. As a junior, Van Note averaged nearly 17 points per game along with six rebounds and four assists per contest. She is a do it all player on the offensive end of the floor.
