2023 5-6 PG [player_tooltip player_id="154599" first="Mataya" last="Gayle"] – River Ridge Hampered with foul trouble in the first half, [player_tooltip player_id="154599" first="Mataya" last="Gayle"] stilled showed flashes of her game-breaking athleticism and skill. The smallest player on the floor but hands down the most electric player, Gayle recorded 11 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block in a 44-31 win over Harrison. Mataya has jitterbug quickness that helps her weave through the defense as she races down the break. She can explode to the basket and finish even when length presents itself. Gayle knocked down a pull-up three and can stop on a dime. Defensively, she can stay in front of anyone when she puts her mind to it. Still a young guard, her decision making will improve throughout her career. 2021 6-0 F [player_tooltip player_id="195887" first="Caroline" last="Cavallaro"] – River Ridge With Allie Sweet in quarantine, senior [player_tooltip player_id="195887" first="Caroline" last="Cavallaro"] continued her strong play. Cavallaro is a mobile forward that runs the floor well. She is a strong rebounder that can help initiate the fast break. She uses her size to alter shots at the rim and can do so without fouling. Offensively, she can finish with either hand at the rim. She had 10 points, 13 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 blocks in a win against Harrison. 2021 5-6 PG [player_tooltip player_id="195846" first="Leigh" last="Codiniera"] – River Ridge [player_tooltip player_id="195846" first="Leigh" last="Codiniera"] doesn’t jump off the tape. She doesn’t possess elite size or quickness, but her savvy IQ and her poise are what makes her an effective player. Codiniera has seen big minutes since her freshman season. She has been through the fire. She understands when to look for her shot and when to set up the offense. Leigh is a solid decision maker that protects the ball and helps out in a variety of ways. She tallied 6 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal on Friday. 2022 5-8 SG [player_tooltip player_id="238218" first="Emily" last="Acampora"] – Harrison Georgia’s prettiest shot. That is what [player_tooltip player_id="238218" first="Emily" last="Acampora"] has. She’s an elite shooter that is a premier floor spacer. She showed a little more off the bounce on Friday, a welcome sight that will help diversify her game. She had 11 points and hit 3 threes in the loss. Schools needing a knock down shooter will want to keep tabs on her come senior season. 2022 5-8 PG [player_tooltip player_id="195844" first="Alisha" last="Foster"] – Harrison An active guard with nice length, [player_tooltip player_id="195844" first="Alisha" last="Foster"] wore many hats at the War Lodge Invitational. Though her offense wasn’t there, she was instrumental in organizing sets and helping rebound. Foster has a nice floor game and can be put in different positions and still succeed. She had 2 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. She could be an interesting option with another year of seasoning. I like her intangibles.
