First State Community Bank Classic (Top 2021s)
Prep Girls Hoops Missouri had a chance to take a look at the First State Community Bank Holiday Classic in Cape Girardeau on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University. Here is a look at the top seniors in the tournament.
[player_tooltip player_id="162344" first="Katie" last="Webb"] 6’1" Oran: A very talented forward who averaged 12 points a game, including 17 points in the third-place game against Delta. She is a strong player in the low post with excellent moves and a nice touch around the basket. She also has the ability to step outside and knock down 3-pointers. She led Oran to a Final Four berth in Class 2 last season.
Madison Lambert 5’9" Jackson: A solid all-around wing player who is strong physically and very skilled with the basketball to excel just about anywhere on the court. She can post up well and score in the paint and hit a 3-point shot when she has the time and space. She averaged 11 points a game in helping lead the Indians to a runner-up finish in the tournament.
Maddox Murphy 5’8" Saxony Lutheran: A very resourceful offensive threat who can get buckets while playing the ball in her hands on moving without the ball. She does a good job of cutting hard and and staying on the move to get herself open. She can operate on the baseline well and make open 3-pointers off the catch. She also has good anticipation on defense to be disruptive and get deflections and steals.
Emma Brown 5’6" Woodland: The senior point guard was one of the leading scorers in the tournament. She is a capable perimeter shooter who can handle the offense as a floor leader. She is also a very capable defender who will hawk the ball and get into the passing lanes for steals.
