I caught my second private school match-up of the week in high school, I’ll be in Dallas this weekend for a grassroots event to catch some 2025 players who will be Watchlist candidates yet this night was special as I was there to witness [player_tooltip player_id="97916" first="Amani" last="Bartlett"] score her 1000th point before she heads to Syracuse. I’ll also roll out the role players from this week and I had a brainstorm so I’ll drop the top transfers but here are the standouts
<strong>Houston Christian</strong>

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="97916" first="Amani" last="Bartlett"]</strong>
Bartlett has been nothing but a joy to watch even before she committed to Tennessee as an 8th grader but the thing that overly impresses me about her is her perseverance after being injured almost half of her high school career yet the desire and mindset to continue to play at an elite status. Her spirit is contagious, you see it trickle over to her teammates on the court, she’s long and athletic, she elevates on the jumper, mid to long-range, she attacks from wherever she wants and she scores frequently in the paint yet that elevation also gave her numerous highlight blocks and deflections last night

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="96127" first="D’Asia" last="Thomas"]</strong>
Thomas showing a college-ready frame as well as some moves ready for the next level and watching her handle the ball in the open court at her size tells me she’s been working, let me add handling under pressure but her midrange game was clicking, she showed she could create her shot and get it off whenever she wanted but that #BEAST mindset in the paint as she was fierce grabbing the ball off of the glass, igniting the break and sometimes finishing after the outlet

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="134031" first="Jalayah" last="Ingram"]</strong>
Ingram finishes the trifecta joining Thomas and Bartlett as players I saw before HS that I tagged #D1Lock but the thing that first impressed me about her in the 6th grade was her speed with the ball and being under control at that age would set things up and of course, I was correct as she effortlessly maneuvers through traffic throwing blazing passes on the money, in traffic, yet her ability to shoot the long ball gives her multiple options because she can take defenders and dish as well
<strong>Second Baptist</strong>
<strong>Olivia Sauvageau-5’6 PG freshman</strong><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/DSC_0071-crop-640x421-1610535975.jpg"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-245811 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/DSC_0071-crop-640x421-1610535975-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a>
Sauvageau impressed me the past club season so much that she made my Tip Sheet after an initial showing. First impressions are sometimes lasting impressions and I see that I was on the money yet again because her poise sets things off, she’s heady and she understands how to run a team, how to control the tempo, and when to push the ball. I caught her dropping the floater on The Gram and I called as she went baseline but she creates her shot, she can shoot the mid to long-range and she handled the ball well under pressure
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="267349" first="Kate" last="Marshall"]-5’11 PF sophomore</strong>
<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/DSC_0060-crop-640x421-1610535802.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-245809" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/01/DSC_0060-crop-640x421-1610535802-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a>
Marshall brought the LAW in as she was more than serviceable in the paint. She catches the ball, keeps it high, and finishes but I like the fact that she’s constantly moving, and when you add the good "hands and footwork" good things will happen yet with her size and frame and being a sophomore, her potential just jumps at me because she’s a battler, this is something you can’t teach, it comes from within so throw in her ability to defend in the paint as well as rebound and watch what’s coming
