There have been some teams that have impressed in the early stages in the 2021 season. While there have been only a handful of games to this point, we’ve gotten a little sense of the teams that can be ones to watch outside of the top teams in the state. Let’s take a look at the teams that have impressed in the early stages. Cinnaminson: Cinnaminson is off to a 3-0 start behind a 39-30 victory over Moorestown, a 40-25 win over Palmyra and a 40-19 blowout over Pennsauken. Senior Kaitlyn Morgan put in 21 points in the season opener against Moorestown. She has scored in double figures in two of three games. Katie Ambos, a sophomore, has been efficient as well with 11 points apiece in games against Palmyra and Pennsauken. Bordentown: Bordentown is 2-0 after cruising past Pemberton, 46-26, and escaping at Maple Shade with a 38-35 victory. Junior Oshynn Cosom has been in double figures in both games, scoring 19 points against Maple Shade and 12 points against Pemberton. She has knocked down five 3-pointers through two games. Rancocas Valley: Rancocas Valley is 3-0 after defeating Pennsauken, 49-31, and then edging Winslow, 38-35, and Gloucester Catholic, 35-33. The team has battled through adversity and has shown grit in these early games. Junior Adriana Agosto has been a spark early on. She opened the season with five 3-pointers and a 19-point, 10-rebound, three-steal performance against Pennsauken. She then had 10 points against Winslow and seven points and six rebounds against Gloucester Catholic. Senior Sam Poljevka has been a force on the glass with 30 rebounds in three games, including 12 against Gloucester Catholic and 11 against Pennsauken. Fellow senior Kylie Bradford also has a double-double to her name thus far, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against Winslow. Dumont: Dumont has rolled past the competition early on, dominating Bergenfield, Fort Lee and New Milford. The team has been incredibly balanced offensively with players such as junior Colleen Heaney, junior Meghan Heaney, senior Brianna Perez, junior Kaylie McQuade, junior Naomi Lucca, junior Kelsey Boyhen and junior Julia Angeles all steady contributors. Wildwood Catholic: Wildwood Catholic has dominated its first two opponents, taking down Cape May Tech 89-19 before easing past Atlantic City, 58-23. Senior [player_tooltip player_id="134625" first="Marianna" last="Papazoglou"] finished with 32 points to go with seven rebounds, five steals, three assists and two blocks in Wildwood Catholic’s win over Cape May Tech. She followed with a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds to go with seven assists and six steals against Atlantic City. Haddon Heights: Haddon Heights is 3-0 after a pair of wins over Collingswood and a victory over West Deptford. It has been a balanced effort between junior Marquae Richardson-Muse, junior Maggie Campbell, sophomore Madison Clark and freshman Kylee Ferranto. Gloucester City: Gloucester City is 3-0 after defeating Lindenwold twice and Paulsboro. The Lions have showcased an ability to score. Seniors Crystal Johnson, Allyson Velez and Emily Keith have led the way offensively. Robbinsville: Robbinsville is 2-0 following dominating wins over Trenton and Hamilton West. In a 49-16 win over Hamilton West, Vanessa Sabol and Allie Neumann hit double figures. In a 72-11 win over Trenton, Sabol had 15 points, 12 rebounds and eight steals. Edison: Edison is 2-0 behind close victories over East Brunswick and Piscataway. Freshman Ghelsey Go has been a major spark for Edison thus far. She opened the season with 10 points, nine rebounds and five blocks in a win over East Brunswick, and then she followed with 31 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks and three steals. North Brunswick: North Brunswick is 3-0 with victories over Woodbridge, Colonia and Iselin Kennedy. Sophomore Niyell McCargo is averaging 19 points per game through three games, and she opened the season with a 30-point performance against Woodbridge. Lincoln: Jakira Coar has been tremendous for Lincoln in its 2-0 start, scoring 26 points against Memorial and 34 points against St. Dominic, both convincing victories. West Morris: Behind the duo of senior Mackenzie Selvaggi and junior [player_tooltip player_id="159088" first="Grace" last="Soltes"], the West Morris Central Wolfpack are 3-0, taking down Mount Olive, Hackettstown and Hanover Park. Cherokee: Senior [player_tooltip player_id="134612" first="Alexa" last="Therien"] has been massive in Cherokee’s 3-0 start. She has scored in double figures in all three games, including a double-double performance of 23 points and 13 rebounds in an impressive victory over Montclair Immaculate. Junior Katie Fricker has also been efficient for Cherokee. Mount St. Mary: Mount St. Mary is 3-0 behind wins over Warren Hills, Bernards and Delaware Valley. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id="159449" first="Erin" last="McNulty"] and Natalie Mathern will be important for Mount St. Mary and its success this season. Glassboro: [player_tooltip player_id="155443" first="Alexis" last="Davis"] has been one of the most impressive players in the state, and a big reason why Glassboro sits at 3-0. The sophomore has scored 89 points through three games, and she has 55 rebounds. All three games have resulted in double-double performances (36 points, 16 rebounds, 32 points, 19 rebounds, 21 points, 20 rebounds). Davis also has 11 blocks and 11 steals through three games. Other Teams: River Dell, Teaneck, Pascack Valley, Wayne Valley, Vineland, Mainland, Dunellen, Monroe, Middlesex, Hudson Catholic, Mendham, Morris Hills, Morristown-Beard, Jefferson, Pequannock, Kittatinny, Sparta, Secaucus, Ridgefield, Glen Rock, Emerson Boro, Cherry Hill West, Shawnee, Columbia, University, Newark East Side, Toms River East, Point Pleasant Beach, Donovan Catholic, Rumson-Fair Haven, Voorhees, Phillipsburg, Belvidere, Highland, Clearview, Kingsway, Union, Scotch Plains-Fanwood
