Duncan finished her with over 1,500 career points for the Lady Trojans. Andrea has a knack to score the ball from the backcourt. Duncan can score the ball from all 3 levels on the court. She was a Class 4A All-State Performer this season for the Lady Trojans.

Duncan was a preseason 4A top 5 senior pick by the SCBCA. Her Trojans may have been on the receiving end of a 58-29 decision to Military Magnet, but the 16 points she scored were a bright spot in what was otherwise a contest James Island would probably rather forget. One must not overlook what she can get accomplished on the defensive end as well – Duncan will collect her fair share of steals – and then some – which, of course, translates to additional possessions for her team. Duncan may play primarily in the backcourt as a one, but places plenty of emphasis on rebounding as well. Did we also mention she is an unsigned senior?

Andrea has a scorer’s mentality for the Lady Trojans. She averaged 16.1 ppg, 5.1 rebounds and 4.4 steals last season. She enters her senior season with 1,029 career points.

Duncan ran with a local Charleston Grassroots program this past spring and summer in S.H.O.T.S. United. Andrea is a 3-level scorer and really excels in the transition at times leaking out for cheapies. She can knockdown the perimeter jumper or simply step behind the three-point line for a quality look.

Duncan has a great knack to score the ball from all 3 levels on the floor. She will drop the floater from time to time when she’s not connecting on jumpers from the perimeter. Andrea at times seems to be at best when attacking the baseline and slashing to the cup.

Andrea makes things go for the Class 4A Lady Trojans down at James Island. Duncan doesn’t play on the big Grassroots Circuit with a shoe team at all. Andrea ran with a Charleston based team in S.H.O.T.S. United.

We at Prep Girls Hoops have had a bird’s eye view of the development the star guard for the 4A Trojans has had over the years – and it is more than worthy of college recruitment. Duncan finished with 13 points in what was a tough draw for James Island matching up against 5A power Sumter. She displayed her ability to drain attempts from long range late in the contest as she drained a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter. Duncan is also a threat to attack the rim and can deliver strong finishes at the cup. Rebounding, ball handling and collecting steals are other key elements to her complete game.

Duncan is one of two listed on this year’s Shots United 2024 roster with the other being Alaina Graf Alaina Graf 5'7" | SF James Island | 2024 State SC – also in the 2024 class. Her team was involved in a hard-fought contest against a tough Kentucky Blue Devils 2024 bunch. Duncan’s team was on the receiving end of a 46-43 decision, but she scored 10 points – seven in the second half – of that contest. Her ability to draw contact and get to the free throw line gave her plenty of opportunities to keep her team in the game. Six of the 10 points she scored were courtesy of the charity stripe. Duncan is poised to close out her high school career with an exclamation point next season with 4A James Island.

Duncan and the Trojans will be playing its third season at the 4A level since moving down from Class 5A following the 2019-20 season. She is coming off an AAU season where she ran grassroots with SHOTS United. As is the case with many a star, she gets the lion’s share of her attention for her scoring. Duncan also is unafraid of contact that can place her at the free throw line. Another of her strengths is the ability to convert on tough shots in addition to her ability to finish at the rack. Duncan is also a name to be reckoned with on the defensive side.

Andrea will be relied on a lot this season for the Lady Trojans to provide offense. Duncan can score the ball from all 3 levels at times. Look for her to have a breakout season for James Island HS.
