Breakdown:
Chamberlin & Coleman
The South Medford duo showed their one-two punch as Chamberlin is the high skilled wing with scoring capabilities and Coleman is the defensive pest with agility and precision. Chamberlin finished with 14 points and 5 rebounds and showed her ability to stroke it from deep as well as find ways to finish around the block. [player_tooltip player_id="158487" first="Toni" last="Coleman"] is the blurr that plays with tremendous energy and spurt defensively. Coleman can also find ways with her quick first step and fluidity going to the rim.
Other Contributors
Laini Dahlin contributed 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals for Marathon Elite as an engaged player who has superb range on her shot and can find ways to the rim and finish strongly. She has great length defensively, as she plays with tremendous effort on that end. [player_tooltip player_id="204592" first="Shakia" last="Teague-Perry"], fellow South Medford teammate made her debut for Marathon Elite this weekend as a rugged and tough forward with a knack for rebounding on the offensive end. She is a blue collar defender who plays with a lot of physicality.
Davidson Gets It Going
Jazzy Davidson left her mark on the game and from early as she provided most of NW Select’s offensive output as she scored 18 of her 27 points in the first half alone. She was a match-up nightmare as she used her offensive prowess in a number of ways. Davidson is elusive in the fastbreak as she runs like a gazelle and finishes with grace and fluidity. In the low-post, she knows how to use her length to her advantage and score around and over defenders. She can knock it down from deep with regularity. Davidson’s 27 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks were a game changer for NW Select.
NW Select All Around Play
Select got some excellent production from their entire team, as newcomer [player_tooltip player_id="255263" first="Ava" last="Heiden"] made an instant impact with her 7 point, 4 rebound performance. She is a low-post machine as she has ways to produce as an interior scorer and rebounder. Heiden showed her ability to stick the perimeter shot as well. [player_tooltip player_id="207828" first="Lyndsay" last="Bailey"] came into the game and provided instantly as a high energy player who can facilitate as well as find ways to involve herself as a scorer as well.
