  Into the final days of the Class 4A bracket, with most-recent rounds postponed twice because of Colorado’s legendary snow, the higher-end talent continues to rise. Here’s what happened in the Great 8:   --- Mullen’s front-liners delivered in an 87-53 whipping of visiting Falcon. [player_tooltip player_id="95172" first="Gracie" last="Gallegos"] (PGH-Colorado 2022 No. 5) went for a game-high 26 points – 24 after the opening 8 minutes -- on 10-of-17 shooting. [player_tooltip player_id="116776" first="Alexa" last="Dominguez"] (PGH-CO 2021 No. 55, UCCS signee) missed her first attempt before drilling her next nine for 18 points. [player_tooltip player_id="95130" first="Megan" last="Pohs"] (PH-CO 2021 No. 12, Regis University signee) made 7-of-15 shots for 17 points and displayed superior ball-handling and passing against Falcons pressure. And [player_tooltip player_id="95170" first="Imani" last="Perez"] (PGH-CO 2022 No. 4) was stellar on defense, grabbed 11 rebounds, blocked a couple of shots and prevented several others. She also contributed nine points. Falcon’s top two, [player_tooltip player_id="116790" first="Hannah" last="Burg"] (PH-CO 2021 No. 45) and [player_tooltip player_id="117720" first="Billie" last="Fiore"] (PGH-CO 2-22 No. 41 ) had 22 and 12 points, respectively, but on 13-of-38 shooting. --- Top-seeded Holy Family had a fight on its hands, courtesy of Central (G.J.), before winning 61-53. The Tigers’ [player_tooltip player_id="116779" first="Alyssa" last="Wells"] (PGH-CO 2022 No. 37), who scored 12 points, and [player_tooltip player_id="145397" first="Tyler" last="Whitlock"] (PGH-CO 2021 No. 47) and Daniel Hren (PGH-CO 2021 No. 108), who each had 10, led the way. The Tigers, the No. 1 seed, will host No. 4 Mullen on Thursday, renewing an old Parochial league rivalry. --- On the way to the final four, Green Mountain enjoyed balance as well as four in double-figure scoring – headed by Avery Oester’s (PGH-CO 2022 No. 38) 16 points, and [player_tooltip player_id="95134" first="Courtney" last="Hank"] (PGH-CO 2022 No. 13), [player_tooltip player_id="95215" first="Jayda" last="Maves"] (PGH-CO 2023 No. 12)) and Shea Murphy (unranked) each had 12 in a 58-50 victory over Erie. The Tigers’ [player_tooltip player_id="117710" first="Grace" last="Moyers"] (PGH-CO 2022 No. 10) had 15 points, and [player_tooltip player_id="95176" first="Deb" last="Altshuler"] (PGH-CO 2022 No. 12) and [player_tooltip player_id="95135" first="Genevieve" last="Gudino"] (PGH-CO 2021 No. 14) 11 each, but couldn’t knock the No. 2 Rams from the undefeated. --- No. 3 Windsor, which will be at Green Mountain on Thursday, had an easy time with Denver’s George Washington, winning 74-35, as well as levelled scoring. Five players in double digits usually means victory and it did -- [player_tooltip player_id="116799" first="Kylie" last="Sanger"] (PGH-CO 2021 No. 47, Black Hills State signee) had 17 points, [player_tooltip player_id="145408" first="Mykaela" last="Moore"] (PGH-CO 2022 No. 44) went for 15, Samantha Darnell (PGH-CO 2023 No. 37) and [player_tooltip player_id="145404" first="Alexis" last="Backhaus"] (PGH-CO 2022 No. 43) each scored 12, and [player_tooltip player_id="207078" first="Olivia" last="Reed"] (PGH-CO 2022 No. 25) contributed 10. They shot a respectable 48 percent from the floor.
