The Prep Girls Hoops-Colorado Class 4A All-Tournament Team:
<strong>MVP – [player_tooltip player_id="95130" first="Megan" last="Pohs"], Mullen, 5-foot-4, 2021</strong>
The fuel, carshield and Internet hookup that kept the Mustangs luxury vehicle running atop the classification. In the 2021 tournament, she totaled 87 points on 33-of-58 shooting (57 percent) and added 15 assists. She broke the press and distributed the ball, abilities that can’t be overlooked, routinely.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="95172" first="Gracie" last="Gallegos"], Mullen, 6-0, 2022</strong>
The early favorite for 4A player of the year in 2022. After her freshman season, in which she guarded the opposition’s best player, her offense has come. The tourney’s leading scorer with 94 points, on 36-of-51 shooting (69 percent), utilizes the paint as well as the perimeter, helps against the press and rebounds.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="117681" first="Kilah" last="Freelon"], Mullen, 6-1, 2022</strong>
The leading rebounder (43) in the tourney also added 39 points, 15 blocks and nine assists. When you see her swoop through the lane or from block to block, it’s easy to understand if you’ve witnessed her hurdle in track. And her defense has become a regular occurrence.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="207078" first="Olivia" last="Reed"], Windsor, 5-10, 2022</strong>
She was consistently consistent, including 59 points and 41 rebounds during extra basketball. Her ability to handle things inside allowed Wizards teammates to fire away from the perimeter. Had two double-doubles in the tourney and just missed a third.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="116779" first="Alyssa" last="Wells"], Holy Family, 5-10, 2021</strong>
Helped carry the Tigers to a second consecutive semifinals showing. Went for 63 points in the four postseason game, including 15-of-21 free throws, and had 22 in the final-four setback. Also had 14 assists.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="145397" first="Tyler" last="Whitlock"], Holy Family, 5-11, 2021</strong>
Kept the Tigers alive down low, particularly with a couple of double-doubles in her four games. Totaled 39 points, 30 rebounds. 14 assists, 16 steals and six blocks.
