No. 44– Brooklin BROWN Brooklin BROWN 5'9" | SG Shadow Creek | 2022 State TX 5’9 Shadow Creek
I said she was one of the most improved players in Texas when I caught her at an Individual Showcase prior to the start of the school season and she helped her lead to the Regional Finals losing a close one yet she came into herself and understands “what she’s working with” and that’s the ability to create her shot, elevate over defenders to drop it from mid to long-range, as well as attack and let me add she’s “long and athletic” plays the passing lane very well and in transition, she’s a multi-threat with her ability to see the floor
No. 76 Ashunti Cooper Ashunti Cooper 5'4" | CG Lexington | 2022 State TX – 5’4 Lexington
Has the right initials because the heat doesn’t bother one bit and why should it as she’s one of those #THROWBACK guards that understand how to trap and how to “man up” a hunnid, that means “defending your man the length of the floor” and speaking of that, you need to just get back because with her speed handles as well as that ability to stop on a dime a drop the mid to long-range and when you add her body control when she attacks the rim as well as seeing the floor and making crisp passes, there you have it
No. 90 Jarahle Daniels Jarahle Daniels 5'6" | CG Fairfield | 2022 State TX -5’6 Fairfield
Watched her via the IPAD and saw enough to know she needed to be added and did she perform well for Fairfield in the UIL State Championship game, yes she did, and although they didn’t defend their UIL 4A State Championship title from the previous year, the team was solid and played well and under pressure, she was legit missing only 2 field goals while going 9/9 from the free-throw line, unofficially for 17 points but off the dribble, the midrange as well as handling the ball under what else, pressure, she got it done
No. 92 Gabbie Fields Gabbie Fields 5'6" | CG Brownsfield | 2022 State TX -5’6 Brownsfield
Fields was named the MVP after helping lead her team to the UIL 4A State Championship and her going 4/5 on three pointers in the first half told me a lot. She created her shot under pressure and she also showed she could catch and shoot and she cooled off considerably in the second half, the game went into overtime and she put her team on her back scoring six points to secure the victory
No. 94 Jada Celsur Jada Celsur 5'7" | CG Martin's Mill | 2022 State TX – 5’7 Martin’s Mill
I was impressed watching her go off in one of the lower classifications and her 21 points led all scorers in the UIL 2A State Championship game. Her team was runner up but she scored from long range, from midrange as well as created her shot under pressure to do that as well as attack the rim but her steadiness and poise just grabbed me as she played within herself, nothing fancy, just good solid basketball
