Regional 10: Preview And Predictions

<h2>REGIONAL 10</h2> Regional 5 has some talented teams, players, and legitimate Division 1 state title contenders. Here is a preview of the Region and my predictions. <h4>LOCATION</h4> Corunna <h4>DATE</h4> March 29 and March 31 <h4>KEY PLAYERS</h4> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="253597" first="Ashley" last="Bower"] (2022, SG, Portland)</strong> Bower can flat out shoot the rock. If she gets hot in these regionals, Portland has a very real chance of bringing home the trophy. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="189279" first="Lexi" last="Boyke"] (2023, PF, Frankenmuth)</strong> Boyke is a terrific young star that fits the modern day mold of a stretch 4. She grinds in the post defensively and can step out and work her opponent offensively. Her versatility could help take Frankenmuth a long ways. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="178874" first="Kerrigan" last="Howdeshell"] (2022, PG, Lake Fenton)</strong> Point guards take on importance and stand out come playoff time. Howdeshell at the lead guard is certainly an asset for Lake Fenton. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="175938" first="Hannah" last="Niederquell"] (2021, SG, Feeland)</strong> Niederquell is a talented senior that has a distinct toughness about her to go along with her impressive skill set. She may just not let her team lose. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147726" first="Zoey" last="Persails"] (2022, SG, Frankenmuth)</strong> Persails is one of the most talented junior perimeter players in the state. She’s a terrific 2 way player that will have an impacr in every game. <h4>THE GAMES AND PREDICTIONS</h4> SEMIFINALS Lake Fenton vs. Frankenmuth This is one of my favorite matchups in the entire girls bracket, regardless of Division. Frankenmuth is really good and has star talent. They are a very real Final 4 threat. But don’t look past Lake Fenton. They have been playing terrific basketball and have dominated opponents as of late. Prediction: Frankenmuth Freeland vs. Portland Portland is another team that has just been playing really good basketball at the right time of the year. Freeland has the talent to turn the tables though. Prediction: Portland REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Frankenmuth vs. Portland I like how Portland can play a really nice inside-out game. They can establish the paint which creates room for their shooters. I think Frankenmuth just has too many weapons. The combination of <strong>Persails </strong>and <strong>Boyke </strong>is a lot to overcome. Prediction: Frankenmuth
