Every moment on the floor counts for members of the 2022 class who are in their final season of club basketball. While some clubs are not playing a usual Spring travel season due to a conflicting high school season, teams will more than likely get rolling here soon. I am excited to track many prospects, but there are four I am especially interested to track over the Spring season.
<h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27947" first="Veronica" last="Sheffey"] - Way to Win</strong></span></h4>
2022 5’8 point guard [player_tooltip player_id="27947" first="Veronica" last="Sheffey"] has long been one of my favorite players in the 2022 class. The lefty lead guard has an outstanding work ethic and attitude. Her handle is very good and she can equally score and distribute just as well. When you add that to her strong defensive ability and rebounding, Sheffey is a player I believe is deserving of even more recruitment than her current couple of Division 1 offers.
<h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27948" first="Rosa" last="Smith"] - EBC Elite</strong></span></h4>
One of the most potent offensive players in Washington when you talk about pure offensive skill set. Smith has pull-up jumpers, handles and three point shooting ability. The 5’7 point guard can run the point, but her shooting ability makes her a threat to play off the ball some as well.
<h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="156428" first="Tatum" last="Thompson"] - Way to Win</strong></span></h4>
This 5’11 small forward is long, athletic and multi-talented on the floor. Had she been able to play a full high school basketball season, people would have been able to see more of a finished product from the potential she showed a year ago. Thompson will perform well on the circuit because she doesn’t need plays called for her to be successful. She rebounds, defends, passes and creates some scoring opportunities for herself.
<h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="156138" first="Ella" last="Koebelin"] - CABC</strong></span></h4>
The star of Klahowya High School stands 5’3, but she has some game to her. She is a strong, heady point guard that plays with a good passion for the game. She is a nice small college prospect that will be able to help a college program at the point guard position.
