[player_tooltip player_id="98663" first="Jalyn" last="Hall"] - Parshall - (5’4/PG/2021) - Hall is the definition of speed. If you’re a college coach and looking for a speedy pest for your defensive press or, a great one on one defender then Jalyn needs to be on your list. She’s an all-state track runner. Possesses a lightning-fast first step and a soft touch around the rim. A pure workhorse that will do whatever is needed for her team to win.
[player_tooltip player_id="243767" first="Malayna" last="Barendt"] - Devils Lake - (5’7/PG/2021) - Malayna is a guard in my biased opinion who is really underrated. She was the starting point on a very talented Devils Lake team. She averaged almost 6 points 4 assists a game. What these stats don’t show is how versatile she is in pushing the ball up the court and showcasing some great court vision to set up her teammates. If it wasn’t that the Firebirds already had 3 other players in double figures each night Barendt would be up there in scoring as she’s got a great mid-range game and plays through the pick n roll very nice to set herself and the rolling big up nicely.
[player_tooltip player_id="195249" first="MaKayla" last="Anderson"] - Bismarck Century - (6’0/PF/2021) - Anderson coming fresh off a State Championship Century team is an extremely disciplined post player that shoots high percentage shots at 52% from the field and 70% from the free-throw line. She has a great feel for around the basket and punishes players that let her set up down low. She was the 7th scorer on a very talented team averaging 5.9 ppg but could’ve easily averaged more had she been higher on the scoring list.
[player_tooltip player_id="196870" first="Lydia" last="Mattern"] - Fargo Shanley - (5’8/SG/2021) - Mattern finished the year top 5 in the ECC for steals and averaged a solid 7 ppg. Besides her stats, Mattern is a player that can do the dirty work for teams. She hustles everywhere, dives on the floor for loose balls, a true defensive menace, and has a junkyard dog mentality when it comes to basketball. She can light up the court having a few 20 point games this year and is someone you don’t want to send to the free-throw line going perfect in a handful of contests.
[player_tooltip player_id="98710" first="Hannah" last="Hagel"] - Carrington - (5’11/PF/2021) - Averaging almost 15 points and 8 rebounds a contest Hagel put the Cardinals on her back in several games this year in pushing forward in becoming a State Basketball qualifying team. With some amazing footwork, a deadly right-handed post hook, and an up and under game that leaves defenders mesmerized Hagel is almost the complete package. If she can develop a consistent mid-range jump-shot at the next level she will be a handful to deal with.
