2022 Rankings Update: Top Forwards

Perhaps the most versatile position in these breakdowns is headlined by perhaps the most versatile player in this state. While not necessarily the deepest position for the class of 2022, all the players on this list have the ability to impact the game in a wide variety of ways. [player_tooltip player_id="31885" first="Amiya" last="Jenkins"], Anderson County- Retaining her spot atop the 2022 class, nothing has changed to make us think Jenkins should not be the top-ranked player going into this season. She’s a tremendous two-way player and impacts every area of the game. She embodies all the best attributes of a forward, and really of any basketball player. [player_tooltip player_id="106141" first="Emma" last="Egan"], Bullitt East- Another player who embodies the versatility of a forward, Egan is like a lower-key version of Jenkins’ do-it-all game. If she takes on more of an offensive load going forward she should gain more recognition as a top player in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="31877" first="Patience" last="Laster"], Franklin County- While she could easily be considered a post player, we have included Laster at the forward spot thanks to her efforts to expand her game beyond the interior. She really plays as more of an old-school power forward than anything else, and improving her face-up game would make her lethal. [player_tooltip player_id="106139" first="Tyra" last="Flowers"], George Rogers Clark- Yet another versatile forward, Flowers has the speed and athleticism of a wing with the height and length of an inside player. This makes her tough to guard while being able to guard almost anyone herself, and a strong rebounder to boot. [player_tooltip player_id="106158" first="Jade" last="Pevley"], Garrard County- Another player who could be considered more of a big by some, Pevley has the range and athleticism to stretch a defense to the perimeter as well, giving her the requisite versatility of a forward. She does do most of her damage on the inside though, where she is perhaps the best rebounder on this list in addition to a great scorer.
