I remember watching [player_tooltip player_id="107013" first="Grace" last="Slaughter"] and [player_tooltip player_id="143418" first="Jada" last="Williams"] play a couple of seasons ago as both made my Tip Sheet and now both have made the USA U16 Women’s Team so the phrase Show Me doesn’t stop with them because they have talent throughout the state and I had a chance to catch several squads from Missouri at the 2021 Border War, so here are some of the top players [player_tooltip player_id="107013" first="Grace" last="Slaughter"]-6’2 SG (MO Phenom 16U EYC) Slaughter is on the 16U USA Team, I mentioned that earlier as well as calling her a nightmare to defend when I first saw her play. If you’re wondering why I love big guards that can flat out shoot the ball, more importantly, so do college coaches and with unlimited range, she showed me she could attack off the dribble and score with ease Jordan Speiser (MO Phenom 16U EYC) Speiser gave me an eyeful with her ability to drop the long ball and I just love seeing players that can actually shoot it. Her form, her release, and the way she created her shot was done so smoothly yet what I truly loved was her ability to "catch and shoot" from range, it ain’t easy yet she made it look like it was [player_tooltip player_id="261896" first="Bailey" last="Burns"] (MO Phenom 16U Amanda) Burns had me tweet out, she has the right last name because the nets are SMOKIN and if that wasn’t how enough for me, she attacked strongly off the dribble and finished with power after contact, but alas, her playing the passing lane over and over just did it for me [player_tooltip player_id="255499" first="Lauren" last="Luebbert"] (DC Queens 2024) Luebbert Handles the ball well under pressure and sees the floor while being pressure but the pressure is no problem because she can create her shot while being tightly defended and drop the mid to long-range with ease. I eyeballed her size, she’s around 5’9 with some pretty good upside [player_tooltip player_id="224018" first="Avery" last="Simmons"] (MO Phenom 15U EYC) Simmons is long and athletic, that’s the base which is repeated in this article, yet she also has UPS which means her ability to elevate over players to score and rebound, as well as rebound and score on putbacks, was nice, so is her timing to block, alter and deflect, the acronym is BAD because she’s a bad girl [player_tooltip player_id="194395" first="Kaylynn" last="Janes"] (MO Phenom 15U EYC) Janes attacks strongly, with either hand and she also finishes with either hand, with both after contact but she also has UPS and her rebounding over taller players on both ends had to do with that as well as her understanding of how to get the positioning [player_tooltip player_id="194417" first="Kori" last="Alcorn"] (MO Phenom 15U Jackson) 2024 Alcorn understands how to set defenders up with a slight HEZ, that’s hesitation as well as a deceptive first step but watching her get her shot off from deep and knock it down consistently was definitely a highlight for me as she also dropped it transition as well as coming off of screens Brenna Ward-5’10 SF (MO Phenom 14U Sutton) 2025 Ward is long and athletic, that’s the base I use on several profiles because it’s appealing to the next level but she’s ahead of the curve entering high school because she plays the passing lane, she attacks from everywhere on the court and showed she could finish after contact. Good rebounder and defender Elsie Larson-5’6 G (MO Phenom 15U Porter) Larson is heady and understands how to get hers in the flow so playing within yourself as well as being under control is a good base, she knows when to attack, does a good job of taking defenders yet she also showed she could score from outside as well as see the floor Olivia Tinoco (MO Phenom 16U Kerr) Tinoco is long and athletic, one more time, that’s the base I use yet she also attacks well off the dribble and can see the floor going full speed to either pass or keep it. She also showed good court vision in the half-court set, as well as transition plus she, applied heat on the defensive end Addyson Brownfield (MO Phenom 17U EYC) To offer full transparency, I didn’t spend a lot of time watching this squad, they were usually up big and I hate blowouts so I know there’s plenty of D1 talent on what would be their EYBL club but every time I looked up or passed by, it seemed Brownfield was dropping one from the parking lot [player_tooltip player_id="187637" first="Saneea" last="Bevley"] (MO Phenom 17U Potts) Bevley not only handles the ball well under pressure she also showed she could hit teammates by threading the needle, but also under pressure but her attacking and finishing after creating her shot was nice, so was her ability to knock the mid to long-range down Honorable Mention [player_tooltip player_id="296934" first="Jaidyn" last="Wood"] (MO Phenom 16U Kerr) Nyla Hale (MO Phenom 16U Kerr) Kumani Clark-6’2 (MO Phenom 13U Carter) JaMaya McPherson (MO Phenom 15U EYC) Sammy Mancini-6’5 (MO Phenom) Taryn Sides (MO Phenom 16U EYC) [player_tooltip player_id="170621" first="Megan" last="Aulbert"] (MO Phenom 16U EYC) Lily BA-6’2 P (MO Phenom 16U Amanda) Tyrina Stanford (MO Phenom 16U Amanda) JaCole Johnson (MO Phenom 17U Potts)
