A pair of talented players in the latest Prep Girls Hoops Top 10 Class of 2022 rankings have recently made their verbal commitments.
Guard [player_tooltip player_id="108032" first="Cierra" last="Smith"] of Grandview has given a commitment to the University of Central Missouri while guard [player_tooltip player_id="107960" first="Addison" last="Brownfield"] of Boonville made a verbal pledge to Western Illinois University. The 5’8" Smith is ranked No. 5 in the PGH Class of 2022 rankings while the 5’9" Brownfield checks in at No. 10.
Smith is entering his fourth year as a varsity starting point guard. She is already the school’s career scoring leader with 1,575 points. She was the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference Blue Player of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to their first district championship in 30 years.
As a junior, Smith averaged 23 points a game while making 33 3-pointers. She also averaged 5.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 4.2 steals.
Brownfield led Boonville to a 27-2 record and the Class 4 state championship last season. As a junior, she averaged 19.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.6 steals while making 61 3-pointers.
