HoopPlay Nationals CG/Wing Player Top Performances

The HoopPlay Nationals was a three-day event that showcased some really good talented teams and players. In this article, I will discuss some combo guards and wing players that caught my eye. <strong>Karlie Cursh | 2023 | Swaggin’ Dragons (Dardenelle High School)</strong> Karlie is a good athlete that’s a team player. She understands how to use her athletic ability to her advantage in the half-court and in transition. <strong>Savannah Pyle | 2024 | AR Blaze (Emerson High School)</strong> Savannah has a good handle that allows her to get to the rim or any other spot she wants on the floor. When she gets to the rim she can finish. If you back off her she can knock down the three-pointer. <strong>Emily Walley | 2023 | AR United (Southside High School)</strong> Emily is one of the players that does a little bit of everything for her team. She takes it strong to the basket and does a great job in transition with the pass or finishing at the rim. Defensively she pressures the ball and has active hands without fouling. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="314542" first="Kayden" last="Porter"] | 2024 | Arkansas Angels (Sheridan High School)</strong> Kayden has a scorers mentality. She is always applying pressure to the defense with her aggressiveness. She attacks the basket hard and plays with a lot of intensity and energy. <strong>Reagan Henderson | 2023 | AR United (Perryville High School)</strong> Reagan was one of the best catch-and-shoot three-point shooters in the tournament. She did a great job of getting open in the half-court and showed that she could finish in transition. <strong>Rayne Thone | 2022 | AR Sting (Russellville High School)</strong> Rayne is a combo guard that can make the catch and shoot three-pointer. She moves well without the ball in the half-court making it difficult for her defender to keep track of her. Rayne also plays hard on defense. Applying good on-ball pressure. <strong>Madeleine Tipton | 2022 | AR Sting (Vilonia High School)</strong> Madeleine is a versatile player that could guard multiple positions on defense. Offensively she did a good job of relocating off penetration for the catch and shoot three. When she attacks off the bounce she attacks hard, playing through contact. <strong>Khassidy Warr | 2022 | Ok Fusion White (Ft. Smith Northside High School)</strong> Khassidy is a strong physical guard that pushes it in transition. She attacks the paint hard and plays through contact with ease. If she's put on the line she can make free throws. <strong>Ashya Harris | 2022 | Ok Fusion White (Ft. Smith Northside High School)</strong> Ashya was one of the best shooters in the tournament. When off the ball she was always ready to catch and shoot. Deadly from the behind the line, can put the ball on the floor, and finish around the rim. <strong>Shy Willis | 2023 | AR Elite (Russellville High School)</strong> Shy is a good athlete that uses her natural athletic abilities best she can while on the floor. She plays hard every possession, especially on the defensive end. She gives great effort when guarding the ball and would slash to the basket on offense.
