2019 Class Rankings: The Top 10

With the launch of Prep Girls Hoops Kentucky comes the first ever set of rankings for the 2019 class in Kentucky. The class is a strong one as a whole, with several ladies who have signed to play at the D1 level next season. Here is a breakdown of the top 10 our 2019 Class Rankings: <ul> <li><strong>Savannah Wheeler, Boyd County - </strong>The best player on one of the best teams in the state, Wheeler is signed to Marshall. She has put up an impressive 30.5 points per game along with 6.9 rebounds per game. To continue putting up those huge type of numbers at the next level, she'll need to improve her shooting percentages. Her Senior season she has only shot 43% from the field and 36% from 3.</li> <li><strong>Emma King, Lincoln County - </strong>Headed to play her college ball at the University of Kentucky, King just had her career end in the 12th region Semifinals over the weekend. Emma is a high scoring guard with a good skill level and even better positional size. Coming off a Senior season where she averaged 18.3 points and 7.4 rebounds, Emma will expect to challenge for playing time right away at UK in the fall.</li> <li><strong>Kiara Pearl, Eastern - </strong>The best player in a pretty good group of Seniors in Louisville, Pearl is a good athlete and who figures to see the floor early in her career at Vanderbilt. Her Senior season ended in the regional semifinals over the weekend but she logged an impressive 18 points and 5 rebounds per game while leading the Eagles to a 20 win season.</li> <li><strong>Nila Blackford, DuPont Manual - </strong>Pearl's career was ended with a loss to Blackford and Manual but Nila ends up a spot behind her in the rankings. Nila has great size and a high basketball IQ. She averages a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds per game for the Crimson while using her size to bully opponents around the rim to the tune of 49% shooting. If she could become a better 3 point shooter, she could be unstoppable at Kent State for the next 4 years.</li> <li><strong>Hayley Harrison, George Rogers Clark - </strong>Despite missing a handful of games this season, Harrison stakes her claim to being a top 5 player in this loaded class. Leading the Cardinals in scoring and rebounding at 15.6 points and 5.4 rebounds, Harrison is going to do all the little things to help her team win even though she is a true shooting guard. Harrison will take her talents to Tennessee-Martin next season.</li> </ul> <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>The Next 5:</strong></span> <ul> <li>Maaliya Owens, Scott County - Tennessee Tech commit led the Lady Cards in scoring at 19.6 PPG.</li> <li>Cameron Browning, Male - The 6'2 Center will take her double-double average to Belmont next season.</li> <li>Lauren Schwartz, Ryle - Headed to college at Rice, Schwartz led the Lady Raiders in scoring and rebounding as a Senior.</li> <li>Ivy Turner, Danville - One of the most valuable players in the state this season, Turner is the best available Senior.</li> <li>Jada Higgins, Knott County Central - Higgins will take her talents to EKU next year after averaging 17.6 points per game this season.</li> </ul>
